Abstract:
A novel polyethylene composition is described. The composition is suitable for manufacturing especially stretched bands or tapes, also coined raffia in the art.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for providing extracorporeal blood circulation and oxygenation control include multi-stage de-airing of blood to provide automated cardiopulmonary replacement to sustain patient life during a medical procedure such as cardiopulonary bypass graft surgery, keyhole cardiopulonary bypass graft surgery, percutaneous angioplasty, percutaneous stent placement, and percutaneous etherectomy.
Abstract:
A memory device is configured to guarantee a high degree of flexibility and a compact construction. To this end, the existing plate line device of the memory device which functions on the basis of a hysteresis process is configured to detect the state of a memory capacitor and hence, the information that is stored.
Abstract:
A melt spinning apparatus for spinning a synthetic yarn, wherein the yarn is formed by combining a plurality of filaments and wound to a package by means of a takeup device downstream of the spinning apparatus. Downstream of the spinneret, an inlet cylinder with a gas-permeable wall and a cooling tube are arranged. The cooling tube connects to a suction device such that an air stream forms in the cooling tube in the direction of the advancing yarn. This air stream assists the advance of the filaments and leads to a delayed cooling. To ensure adequate cooling of the filaments within the cooling zone, an air supply device is provided for generating an additional cooling air stream which flows in the axial direction of the cooling tube for cooling the filaments downstream of the inlet to the cooling tube.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel substituted (&agr;,&bgr;-fused butyrolactones, to processes for their preparation and to their use for the prevention and/or treatment of disorders caused by hyper- or hypofunction of the glutamatergic system, in particular of cerebral ischaemias, craniocerebral trauma, states of pain or CNS-mediated spasms.
Abstract:
A ventilation arrangement for the head space of the fuel tank of a vehicle comprises a switchable main valve intended for adjusting an arbitrary pressure in the head space of the tank. By way of the opening position of the main valve, a connection between a connection (5) intended for connection to the head space and a connection (6) intended for connection to the surrounding atmosphere is established, wherein the main valve is assigned a pilot valve, which opens during a first path element of a switching movement, wherein the main valve only opens following this first path element. Because of the small cross section of the pilot valve and the pressure relief that materialized through its opening, the switching power can be reduced and a smaller size drive can be employed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to 4,6-disubstituted aminopyrimidine derivatives and/or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, the use of these derivatives as pharmaceutically active agents, especially for the prophylaxis and/or treatment of infectious diseases, including opportunistic diseases, prion diseases, immunological diseases, autoimmune diseases, bipolar and clinical disorders, cardiovascular diseases, cell proliferative diseases, diabetes, inflammation, transplant rejections, erectile dysfunction, neurodegenerative diseases and stroke, and pharmaceutical compositions containing at least one of said 4,6-di substituted aminopyrimidine derivatives and/or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use of said 4,6-disubstituted aminopyrimidine derivatives as inhibitors for a protein kinase and a medium comprising at least one of said 4,6-disubstituted aminopyrimidine derivatives in an immobilized form and the use of said medium for enriching, purifying and/or depleting nucleotide binding proteins which bind to the immobilized 4,6-disubstituted aminopyrimidine derivatives.
Abstract:
A device for the detection of micro particles that can be marked by probes or antibodies capable of being detected by radiation has a filter, a supply system, and a detection system. Fluid to be examined is passed over a filter to filter out the micro particles and to perform the marking steps by supplying corresponding marking substances to the filter
Abstract:
The invention relates to a gas detection system (1) for detecting gases, vapors and biological pathogens, having at least one receptor (4) arranged on a line (5) connecting the ambient air (7) to an air storage unit, wherein the gas detection system (1) is designed as a “breathing” system containing clean CO2-carrying and moisture-saturated air in the air storage unit (2), wherein the operating temperature of the gas detection system (1) is the room temperature. Additionally, a method is proposed for detecting gases, vapors and biological pathogens using the inventive gas detection system. This avoids the shortcomings of the known solutions of the prior art, and an improved and more cost-effective solution for detecting trace gases is made available.
