    摘要: A one-part, air-activatable, polymerizable composition comprising:(a) at least one free-radically polymerizable monomer, and(b) an activator system for effective polymerization of the free-radically polymerizable monomer, said activator system comprising at least one auto-oxidizable compound of a formula which includes the structure I: ##STR1## where x is 0 or 1, and where the lines representing unfilled valencies indicate bonds to carbon, hydrogen or hetero atoms, alone or in combination with a weak acid;with the proviso that:when x=0, the nitrogen atom in structure I is not bonded to a second nitrogen atom;and when x=1 there is a structure I in the compound in which the >C.dbd.C>moiety does not form part of a phenyl ring;with the proviso that the composition does not contain a peroxide, or a peroxide precursor which produces peroxide in the absence of air or any ingredient which is a significant source of radicals in the absence of air.Preferred auto-oxidizable compounds are selected from the group consisting of partially hydrogenated pyridines, condensation products of cyclic ketones and ureas, Schiff's bases, indoles, pyrroles, imidazoles, piperazines, carbazoles, tetrahydroquinolines, and substituted derivatives thereof, particularly dihydropyridines.The composition may also contain a soluble ionic salt, particularly a cobalt or iron salt.The compositions as described are stable on storage in the absence of air, are activated by exposure to air, and will then cure in either the presence or absence of air.

    摘要: An electrochemical cell or battery uses iron gall ink as an electrolyte. In some examples, mold, bacteria, or yeast are allowed to grow on the electrolyte. The ink is made by combining tannic or gallic acid from a material such as dehydrated tea with a metal or transition metal sulfate, such as iron sulfate, potassium sulfate, or manganese sulfate. Urea, a metal or transition metal salt, and glycerin can also be added to the electrolyte to assist in the ion-producing reaction. One example includes electrodes made from iron and graphite, and an electrolyte of iron-gall or iron-tannate ink. Another example uses a manganese based ink. Aluminum, potassium, or sodium tannate ink, urea, and graphite can be used to make a metal-air cell, in which the cell is open to the air. The ink can be used as a charge transport in a redox-flow electrochemical cell. Yet another example utilizes Bauxite residue, a waste product of aluminum manufacture. The Bauxite is used to form an ink and used in cells similar to those described above.

    摘要: A method and system for facilitating digital commerce using a secure digital commerce system is provided. The secure digital commerce system is arranged according to a client/server architecture and includes a modularized DCS client and DCS server. The DCS client and the DCS server are incorporated into an online purchasing system, such as a virtual store, to perform the purchase and online delivery of electronic content. The DCS client includes a set of components which include a secured copy of the merchandise and various components needed to license and purchase the merchandise and to unsecure and process (e.g., execute) the licensed merchandise. The DCS client communicates with the DCS server to download the components onto a customer's computer system and to license and purchase a requested item of merchandise. The DCS server, which includes a content supplier server, a licensing and purchasing broker, and a payment processing function, supplies merchandise-specific components and licenses the requested item of merchandise by generating an electronic certificate. The electronic certificate contains license parameters that are specific to the requested merchandise and an indicated purchasing option. Once a valid electronic license certificate for the requested merchandise is received by the DCS client, the merchandise is made available to the customer for use in accordance with the licensing parameters contained in the electronic license certificate.

    摘要: A cabinet and control system for maintaining a food product within a predetermined temperature range for a holding period of time not exceeding a predetermined maximum time. The cabinet comprises a housing having a front panel and a passageway opening at the front panel. The passageway is capable of receiving at least two containers of the food product. A temperature element positioned in said passageway maintains the passageway within the predetermined temperature range. A processing circuit tracks the amount of time each container of food product remains within the passageway. The processing circuit provides a signal output indicating which container has been within said passageway the longest and an alarm signal when either container remains within said passageway beyond said maximum time. A display positioned on said housing proximate to said passageway receives the said signal output and indicates which container has been within the passageway the longest. The display also receives the alarm signal and indicates which one of the containers has been within the passageway for a period of time exceeding the predetermined maximum time.
