Abstract: A battery includes an outer package including a laminated film including one or more resin layers, a terminal, and a melt-bonding assisting member including a thermoplastic resin and extending along the terminal. The outer package includes a melt-bonded region at which the terminal is sandwiched between the one or more resin layers. The terminal includes an inner part, a sandwiched part, and an outer part arranged in a first direction. The melt-bonding assisting member internally and externally extends in the first direction beyond contact with the outer package.

Abstract: A packaging material for a power storage device includes a heat resistant resin layer 2 as an outer layer, a sealant layer 3 as an inner layer, and a metal foil layer 4 arranged between these layers. The sealant layer 3 is composed of one layer or a plurality of layers. The innermost layer 7 of the sealant layer contains a random copolymer containing propylene as a copolymerization component and another copolymerization component other than propylene, a roughening material, and a lubricant. The roughening material is composed of particles containing a thermoplastic resin. The center line average roughness Ra of the surface 7a of the innermost layer 7 is 0.05 μm to 1 μm. It can provide a packaging material for a power storage device which is excellent in formability and hard to generate white powder on the surface.

Abstract: A porous electrode for electrochemical cells, methods of making the same and its application are described. The porous electrode is comprised of a porous conductive layer and an insulating layer, whereas the pores inside the conductive layer function as mini-containers for the active metal for rechargeable batteries, and the insulating material covers the top conductive surface of the conductive layer and blocks the sites where active metal dendrite would otherwise preferentially grow. An example of such electrodes is a porous copper foil with top surface coated with polyvinylene difluoride (PVDF). Electrochemical cells containing the invented electrode, such as rechargeable lithium batteries, sodium batteries and aluminum batteries, have good cycle life and safety performance.

Abstract: A secondary battery includes a container, an electrode assembly received in the container, and an insulator assembly disposed on at least one of an upper end and a lower end of the electrode assembly. When the electrode assembly is moved vertically due to inertia, the insulator assembly is elastically contracted and restored as a reaction to the inertia, thereby reducing pressure generated between an interior surface of the container and the electrode assembly. Abstract: The fabrication method of a lithium microbattery provides for use of a substrate successively covered by: a cathode, a solid electrolyte, and a first electrically conducting layer made from a material configured to combine with the lithium atoms. The first layer is devoid of contact with the cathode. The method further includes formation of a second electrically conducting layer configured to form a diffusion barrier for the lithium atoms. The second layer is electrically connected to the first layer and leaves at least a part of the first layer uncovered, the part being facing the electrolyte. Electrochemical deposition of a lithium anode is then performed from germination from the first and second electrically conducting layers.
