    Abstract: An electrical storage system includes an electric storage zone, an electric storage positioned within the electric storage zone, a cooling fluid source in fluid communication with the electric storage zone via a fluid flow path, a modulating valve in the fluid flow path downstream from the cooling fluid source and upstream from the electric storage zone, and a detector in fluid communication with the electric storage zone. A method for operating an electrical storage system includes adjusting a modulating valve in a fluid flow path to reduce a cooling airflow to an electric storage zone, operating a detector in fluid communication with the electric storage zone configured and adapted to sense at least one of smoke, gas, or other particulates during a detection period with a detection system, and adjusting the modulating valve to increase the cooling airflow to the electric storage zone.

    Abstract: A conductive member is disposed on a side of the sealing plate adjacent to an electrode assembly with a first insulating member disposed therebetween. The conductive member has a conductive-member opening portion. The conductive-member opening portion of the conductive member is sealed by a deformation plate. The deformation plate is connected to a first positive-electrode current collector, which is electrically connected to positive electrode plates. A second insulating member is disposed between the deformation plate and the first positive-electrode current collector. Fixing projections and displacement prevention projections are provided on a surface of the second insulating member. The second insulating member is fixed to the first positive-electrode current collector such that the fixing projections are disposed in fixing holes in the first positive-electrode current collector. The displacement prevention projections on the second insulating member are disposed in displacement prevention holes in the first positive-electrode current collector.

    Abstract: An energy storage module includes: a plurality of battery cells arranged in a length direction, each of the battery cells including a vent; a plurality of insulation spacers, at least one of the insulation spacers being located between long side surfaces of an adjacent pair of the battery cells; a cover member; a top plate coupled to a top portion of the cover member and including ducts respectively corresponding to the vents of the battery cells and including opening holes respectively corresponding to the insulation spacers; a top cover coupled to a top portion of the top plate and including discharge holes located in an exhaust area and respectively corresponding to the ducts; and an extinguisher sheet located between the top cover and the top plate, configured to emit a fire extinguishing agent at a temperature exceeding a certain temperature and including opening holes located to correspond to the ducts.
