摘要： An electronic device may include a dielectric substrate, an electronic circuit supported by the substrate, for processing data, and a communication unit having an antenna. The communication unit may be mounted to the substrate in communication with the electronic circuit for converting between a first EHF electromagnetic signal containing digital information and a data signal conducted by the electronic circuit. The electromagnetic signal may be transmitted or received along a signal path by the antenna. An electromagnetic signal guide assembly may include a dielectric element made of a dielectric material disposed proximate the antenna in the signal path. The electromagnetic signal guide may have sides extending along the signal path. A sleeve element may extend around the dielectric element along sides of the dielectric element. The sleeve element may impede transmission of the electromagnetic signal through the sides of the dielectric element.

摘要： An advanced antenna or set of antennae for a wireless device is provided by embedding the antennae into the battery case or generally the largest surface area of a wireless phone. The antenna connections are made through the battery's connections to the wireless device. The antenna design can be compact and located in any area of the battery. The antenna design can be thin and flat, located at the back surface of the battery or the large rear surface of a wireless phone, facing away from the user. An RF shielding device can be embedded into the battery and configured in relation to the antenna such that the RF field intensity and the consequent specific absorption rate for the user is lowered while the outgoing signals of the wireless device remain fully adequate for the function of the wireless device. This feature is preserved for a multi-band operation because a digital phase shifter is used between two radiating antennae. An external case is used as a complement to the wireless phone to provide additional antennae, power and capability.

摘要： The present invention relates to an electromagnetic containment module. The module includes a metal casing sealed by a metal cover. The module contains a printed circuit arranged flat in the bottom of the casing, and an input/output line leaving the printed circuit via one of its edges to pass perpendicularly through a wall of the casing. A cylinder of hollow axis is arranged on the internal face of this wall, the axis of the cylinder being substantially perpendicular to the wall and the input/output line passing through the cylinder substantially along its axis. The cover includes a notch, the bottom of which has the form of a half-cylinder of the same diameter as the cylinder, the cylinder fitting substantially without play in the notch when the cover is closed, so as to electromagnetically contain the portion of the input/output line situated in the module between the edge of the printed circuit and the wall of the casing.
