摘要: Golf ball multi-layered core sub-assemblies and the resulting golf balls are provided. The core structure includes a foam inner core (center); and intermediate and outer core layers. Foamed polyurethane is preferably used to make the inner core. The intermediate and outer core layers are preferably made from non-foamed thermoplastic compositions such as ethylene acid copolymer ionomer. In an alternative version, the intermediate core layer may be made of a thermoset rubber such as polybutadiene. The core layers have different hardness and specific gravity levels. The core structure and resulting ball have relatively good resiliency.

摘要: Skinned composites contain a plasticized polymer skin layer adhered to a layer of a polyurethane. The polyurethane is made from a reaction mixture that contains specified amounts of a polyester polyol and an acidic material. The presence of both the polyester polyol and acid leads to significantly improved adhesion between the polyurethane and skin layer. The invention is particularly useful when the skin is highly plasticized.

摘要: This invention relates to a method of preparing a microcellular polyurethane elastomer by reacting naphthalene diisocyanate with a polyol to prepare a prepolymer containing an isocyanate (NCO) group, followed by mixing the prepared polyurethane prepolymer with a plasticizer, water, an emulsifier and the like, and then foaming the prepolymer blend to prepare a polyurethane elastomer, wherein the emulsifier is a mixture of (a) a compound selected from the group consisting of 2,4-toluene diisocyanate, 2,6-toluene diisocyanate, 2,4-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, hexamethylene diisocyanate, 1,4′-cyclohexane diisocyanate and mixtures thereof, and (b) a C2-10 hydrocarbon having a molecular weight of 500 or less with two to four hydroxyl groups, or mixtures thereof. The method of the invention can optimize the viscosity and properties of the prepolymer resulting from the reaction of naphthalene diisocyanate with a polyol, thus improving processability.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for producing a rigid polyurethane-polyisocyanurate foam C, comprising the step of reacting (i) an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer B with (ii) an activator component A comprising at least one trimerization catalyst A1 and at least one blowing agent A3 in a reaction mixture to form a foam, characterized in that—there is used an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer B obtained from a reaction of an isocyanate B1 having a mean isocyanate functionality of from ≧2.3 to ≦2.9 with a polyol component B2, and—the activator component A comprises water as the blowing agent A3 in an amount of from ≧5 wt. % to ≦50 wt. %,—the isocyanate index in the reaction mixture is in a range of from ≧400 to ≧500, and—the isocyanate content of the prepolymer B is in a range of from ≧21 wt. % to ≦30 wt. %, based on the total mass of the prepolymer B, and—wherein in the reaction of the prepolymer B and the activator component A a conversion contribution to polyisocyanurate of ≦75% is achieved. Rigid foams C so produced have good flame retarding properties while at the same time having good insulating properties and stability properties. The present invention relates further to a rigid polyisocyanurate foam C produced by the process according to the invention, to the use of such a rigid polyisocyanurate foam C in the production of heat-insulating structural components, and to a heat-insulating structural component comprising such a rigid polyurethane-polyisocyanurate foam.

摘要: In a process for producing a composite element having at least a covering layer and polyurethane foam, the covering layer is inserted into a mold and a polyurethane reaction mixture is introduced onto the covering layer. The polyurethane reaction mixture is reacted to form a polyurethane foam, wherein the polyurethane reaction mixture is obtained by mixing a) polyisocyanate with b) compounds having isocyanate-reactive OH groups, c) blowing agents including water, d) thickeners and e) catalysts. Bis(N,N-dimethylaminoethoxyethyl) carbamate, N,N,N-trimethyl-N-hydroxyethylbis(aminopropyl ether), N,N,N-trimethyl-N-hydroxyethyl(aminoethyl ether) or mixtures thereof and/or tetramethyldiaminoethyl ether are employed as catalysts and the polyurethane foam has a density of not more than 200 g/dm3.
