Abstract:
Substrates are coated with a curable composition that includes at least one free radical polymerizable monomer and a heat-activated polymerization initiator. The coating is applied to the substrate and cured thereon to produce the coating. Curing is performed by purging molecular air from the vessel containing the substrate, pressuring with an oxygen-deficient gas and then curing the fabric in the oxygen-deficient gas at elevated pressure and temperature.
Abstract:
A transparent layered film is produced by forming an anti-water-mark layer on a first side of a transparent resin layer and forming an uneven structure on a surface of the anti-water-mark layer, wherein the anti-water-mark layer comprises a cured product of a curable composition containing a curable resin, a thermoplastic resin, and a metal oxide particle having an average primary particle size of 1 to 100 nm, and the uneven structure has a roughness average Ra of not less than 0.005 and less than 0.03 μm, a mean spacing of profile irregularities Sm of 50 to 300 μm, an average absolute slope Δa of less than 0.1°, and a ten-point average roughness Rz of less than 0.2 μm. Lamination of the film on a glass-containing upper electrode of a touch screen display prevents scattering of glass fragments produced by breakage of the upper electrode, occurrence of water marks, and sparkling on a high-definition display provided with the film.

The barrier laminate has high barrier properties and transparency.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to opaque polymers functionalized with phosphorus acid groups, composites of TiO2 particles and the opaque polymers, and methods for their preparation. The composites are useful in coatings formulations and have been shown to exhibit improved hiding benefits in coated substrates over compositions containing non-functionalized opaque polymer and TiO2.

Disclosed is a curable acrylic composition, an acrylic tape, an acrylic rubber roll and a method for preparing the acrylic rubber roll. The acrylic composition contains 50-77 wt % 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, 2-10 wt % acrylic acid, 20-40 wt % 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, 0.1-0.5 wt % curing agent and 0.1-0.2 wt % photoinitiator. The acrylic rubber roll formed by the acrylic composition can recover its viscosity if washed directly with clean water without cleanser, and is characterized by excellent cleaning ability and washability.
Abstract:
A sizing agent for a reinforcement fiber is used for reinforcing thermoplastic matrix resins and spreads on the reinforcement fiber surface and imparts both excellent splittability and bonding performance to thermoplastic matrix resins. The sizing agent includes essentially an ester compound (A) having a vinyl ester group, acrylate group or methacrylate group bonded to at least one of the chain ends of the main chain of the ester compound (A), and of a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether (B) which is an adduct between an alkylene oxide and a C4-14 monohydric alcohol. When water is added to the sizing agent thereby producing a mixture with a nonvolatile content of 1 weight %, the mixture exhibits a dynamic surface tension ranging from 40 to 55 mN/m determined by the maximum bubble pressure method when bubbles are blown into the mixture at the rate of one bubble per 100 milliseconds.
