Abstract: A circuit interrupting device for use with an electrical power distribution system includes a housing containing a circuit interrupting mechanism. A battery tube is positioned in the housing. A battery assembly is configured to be inserted into the battery tube. The battery assembly includes an assembly body having a first end and a second end and a battery is positioned within the assembly body. A cap is connected to the assembly body and configured to connect the battery assembly to the battery tube. The cap includes a torque-limiting device that prevents overtightening of the cap to the battery tube.

Abstract: A lead-acid battery includes an electrode plate assembly, a battery case, a positive electrode strap, a negative electrode strap, a positive electrode post, a negative electrode post, a cover, and an electrolyte solution. A negative electrode bushing provided in the cover and the negative electrode post together constitute a negative electrode terminal. A maximum value of a gap between an outer circumferential surface of the negative electrode post and an inner circumferential surface of the negative electrode bushing in the negative electrode terminal is 0.5 mm or more and 2.5 mm or less. A rib is provided in a lower part of the negative electrode bushing, and a minimum value of a protrusion height of the rib is 1.5 mm or more and 4.0 mm or less. A distance between a surface of the electrolyte solution and a lowermost portion of the negative electrode bushing is 15 mm or less.

Abstract: A prismatic secondary battery includes a prismatic hollow outer body having a mouth and a bottom; a flat electrode assembly, a positive electrode collector, a negative electrode collector, and an electrolyte, all of which are stored in the prismatic outer body; a sealing plate sealing up the mouth of the prismatic outer body; and a positive electrode terminal attached to the sealing plate in an electrically insulated manner. The sealing plate includes a gas release valve and an electrolyte pour hole and further includes, on the front face, a concaved flat face having an identification code. With the prismatic secondary battery of the invention, a jig for assembly or the like is unlikely to come into contact with the identification code during an assembly process of the prismatic secondary battery, hence the identification code is unlikely to be abraded, and the traceability is unlikely to be lost.

Abstract: A lithium battery cell structure is provided. A first-electrode conduction portion and a second-electrode conduction portion that are exposed outward are respectively provided on two sides of a soft package lithium battery inside the metal housing. The first-electrode conduction portions are respectively electrically connected and fixed to a first-electrode conductive sheet, and the first-electrode conductive sheet is electrically connected and fixed to a housing conductive sheet that is connected to the metal housing. The second-electrode conduction portions are respectively electrically connected and fixed to a second-electrode conductive sheet, and an other end of the second-electrode conductive sheet is electrically connected and fixed to the second electrode end. By adjusting the design of electrical connection between extending portions and the soft package lithium battery and the housing, the lithium battery cell is enabled to have better electrical conductivity and a better heat dissipation effect, and the sealing procedure made simpler.

Abstract: A rectangular secondary battery includes a current breaking mechanism with improved rigidity against vibration and impact. The current breaking mechanism is interposed in the middle of a current path electrically connected between an external terminal and a wound electrode group to break the current path by the rise of battery internal pressure. The current breaking mechanism includes a connection electrode arranged inside a battery lid and electrically connected to the external terminal, and a conductive plate bonded to the connection electrode and deformed by the rise of the battery internal pressure. The connection electrode includes a tabular member having a through hole in communication with the outside of the battery opening on a planar portion. The conductive plate includes a dome-shaped diaphragm portion gradually reducing its diameter as shifting in an axial direction and a flange portion extending radially outward from an outer peripheral portion of the diaphragm portion.

Abstract: A sealing plate for a prismatic secondary battery includes a pair of mouths for attaching a negative and positive electrode terminals, one mouth being formed near one end in a longitudinal direction of the sealing plate, and the other mouth being formed near the other end, coining areas used for positioning of an insulating member and formed around the pair of mouths on a front face of the sealing plate, a gas release valve and an electrolyte pour hole formed between the pair of mouths, and grooves formed between the respective coining areas and the long side edge of the sealing plate. The groove has a smaller depth near the gas release valve than the depth near the coining area. Even when the sealing plate is produced through forging, the front face has good flatness and the coining areas are unlikely to have a sink mark or a shear drop.

Abstract: A secondary battery includes a current cut-off device that cuts off a current flow between a battery element and an external terminal of a positive electrode, and a bypass member electrically connected to an external terminal of a negative electrode. The current cut-off device includes a current collecting member electrically connected to the battery element inside an outer casing, and an inversion plate electrically connected to the current collecting member. The inversion plate comes apart from the current collecting member when the inner pressure of the outer casing becomes increased so as to cut off conduction between the battery element and the external terminal of the positive electrode, and becomes further deformed to electrically connect the bypass member and the external terminal of the positive electrode.

At least one of the lower open end and the upper open end has a larger diameter than the central portion.

Abstract: A prismatic nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a convex portion on a stepped portion of a stepped through hole of a positive electrode external conduction member. An upper end side of a caulked portion of a positive electrode terminal member is caulked by being inserted from a side of a small-diameter portion into the stepped through hole of a positive electrode external conduction member, and a convex portion of the positive electrode external conduction member is covered with a tip side of the caulked portion. Therefore, a terminal member and an external conduction member have a great bond strength, and rarely rotate with respect to each other. Thus, there is less concern that a conductivity decreases even when the battery is used under an environment including a lot of vibrations.
