Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include techniques for detecting duplicate network device identifiers for routing protocols. A network device may receive a link state packet comprising a first network device identifier for use in a routing protocol. The network device may, upon determining that the link state packet satisfies a set of conditions, start a timer. The network device may, while the timer has not elapsed, maintain a count value of link state packets received that satisfy the set of conditions. The network device may, when the timer has elapsed, determine, based on the count value and a defined threshold value, that a second network device in the network is configured with a second network device identifier for use in the routing protocol that is the same as the first network device identifier.

Abstract: Edge clusters execute in a plurality of regional clouds of a cloud computing platforms, which may include cloud POPs. Edge clusters may be programmed to control access to applications executing in the cloud computing platform. Edge clusters and an intelligent routing module route traffic to applications executing in the cloud computing platform. Cost and latency may be managed by the intelligent routing module by routing requests over the Internet or a cloud backbone network and using or bypassing cloud POPs. The placement of edge clusters may be selected according to measured or estimated latency. Latency may be estimated using speed test servers and the locations of speed test servers may be verified.

Abstract: Techniques are described for determining one or more outlier logical paths in a computer network. A cloud-based network management system stores path data received from a plurality of network devices operating as network gateways for an enterprise network, the path data collected by each network device of the plurality of network devices for one or more logical paths of a physical interface from the network device over a wide area network (WAN). The network management system compares the path data for the plurality of logical paths to determine one or more outlier logical paths out of the plurality of logical paths. The network management system, in response to determining the one or more outlier logical paths, output a notification indicative of the one or more outlier path data out of the plurality of logical paths.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for routing packets in a network, such as a satellite mesh network. Network nodes maintain network status information (e.g. link availability information) for the entire network. However, the information is maintained to a higher level of precision for some network regions than for others. For example, the network node can be informed of network events in some regions with lower latency than in other regions. Routing information is generated based on the network status information. Multiple different mechanisms can be used to provide network status updates at different levels of precisions. Nodes which generate or relay network status updates can inhibit (e.g. block or delay) passing the updates toward a target node in order to reduce the level of precision of network status information at that target node.

Abstract: Techniques and architecture are described grouping various sources of traffic within a network into grouping fields and assigning each combination of grouping field values an aggregate identification (ID). A first hop edge router may receive a packet and search a mapping table for a corresponding aggregate ID for the combination of grouping field values within the mapping table. If not found, the first hop edge router may assign a corresponding aggregate ID for the combination of grouping field values and store the new aggregate ID for the combination of grouping field values in the mapping table. The first hop edge router may forward the packet on through the network with the aggregate ID embedded in metadata. Routers within the network may measure and aggregate flow metrics of the packet within the network based on the aggregate ID and provide the measurements to the network controller.

Abstract: Methods, computer-readable media, and systems are disclosed for coordinating host link status and installation of egress filters in coordination with a multi-chassis link aggregation group (MLAG) peer. In response to receiving a request from an MLAG peer to install an egress filter, a local network device provides an indication that the local device has entered a local egress filter installed state. Next, a filter-installed watermark value associated with the local network device is incremented. The local network device provides an indication that the egress filter has been installed. Finally, in response to determining that the MLAG peer network device is not indicating a request peer to install filter status, a local network device indicates a link down status and uninstalls its local egress filter. Alternatively, in response to determining that the local network device is in a link up status, the local device indicates that an MLAG peer should install an egress filter. In response to determining that the peer network device is in a filter request status, installing a local egress filter.
