摘要: Assemblies of one or more implant structures make possible the achievement of diverse interventions involving the fusion and/or stabilization of the SI-joint and/or lumbar and sacral vertebra in a non-invasive manner, with minimal incision, and without the necessitating the removing the intervertebral disc. The representative lumbar spine interventions, which can be performed on adults or children, include, but are not limited to, SI-joint fusion or fixation; lumbar interbody fusion; translaminar lumbar fusion; lumbar facet fusion; trans-iliac lumbar fusion; and the stabilization of a spondylolisthesis.

摘要: A fixation device includes a body having a first axial end and a second axial end defining a longitudinal axis. The body has a longitudinal bore therein, and a longitudinal slot in a first side of the body extending laterally to the bore. A mounting bracket is connected to the first axial end at a second side opposite the slot and extends outward therefrom. The mounting bracket is configured to be mounted to a first structure. A support member is retained in the bore and is configured to move longitudinally in the bore. The support member protrudes outward from the first side of the body to support a second structure a longitudinal distance from the first structure. A lead screw engages a threaded hole in the base whereby rotation of the lead screw moves the support member to adjust the longitudinal distance between the first and second structures.

摘要: A bone positioning guide may include a main body member, a shaft, and a bone engagement member. The shaft can be movably connected to the main body member and have the bone engagement member rotatably coupled to its distal end. The bone engagement member can have a surface configured to engage a bone. The main body member can also include a tip opposite the bone engagement member for engaging a second bone. In use, the bone engagement member may be positioned in contact with a medial side of a first metatarsal while the tip is positioned in contact with a lateral side of a different metatarsal, such as a second metatarsal. The shaft can then be moved to advance the bone engagement member toward the tip, causing realignment of the first metatarsal.

摘要: The cable-locking plate with screw allows for compression of bone fractures using a tensioned cable. The cable-locking plate with screw allows the use of a cable as a flexible bridging member, such as a cable, helps create compression while accommodating the unusual shape. The cable-locking plate with screw allows a surgeon to tension a cable through the plate, then grip the cable by tightening a screw associated with the plate. The compression is created is across the fracture, not around the bone, thus avoiding compression of nerve and blood vessels along the bone's surface. The cable is guided into an ideal position using cable channels, allowing the surgeon to concentrate on tension and screw compression. The plate and cable system are then left in the patient while the bone mends. The cable-locking plate with screw is either left permanently or removed during a later surgery.

Additional smart components may include a load cell within the housing for measuring an imparted load; a sensor for measuring angular position of the adjustable portion; a dual sensor arrangement for measuring imparted forces; a reed switch; a half piezo transducer; and an energy harvester.

摘要: A bone fixation system can be used to stabilize two bone portions intended to be fused together. The system include a bone staple or clip that includes a cross bar and two legs. The system can include a plurality of screws or other additional implant(s) configured to be implanted at an angle to the legs of the bone staple on opposite sides of the interface between two bone portions. The system can improve fixation strength and/or stability of the two bone portions. The fixation system can be used, for example, in small bones such as bones in the foot or hand.

摘要: Systems for off-axis a vertebral body. A steerable assembly includes a steering instrument, a steering handle, and a trigger. A deflectable portion of the steering instrument and a distal portion of a deformable conduit are configured to be directed through and beyond the access cannula. A control surface of the trigger is configured to receive a pull or squeeze input to pivot the trigger to move the steering instrument to an operating mode in which increased tension on the steering instrument curves the deflectable portion of the steering instrument and the distal portion of the deformable conduit. A mounting block may be fixed within the steering handle, and a proximal end of the shaft may be fixed to the mounting block. The steering handle includes a guide movably supported within a void and coupled to the control element. A rear surface of the trigger engages the guide.
