Disclosed herein is a method of: placing between a cooling element and an opposing surface a slurry of: a dielectric powder containing barium titanate, a dispersant, a binder, and water; maintaining the cooling element at a temperature below the opposing surface to cause the formation of ice platelets perpendicular to the surface of the cooling element and having the powder between the platelets; subliming the ice platelets to create voids; sintering the powder to form the dielectric material; and filling the voids with the polymeric material. The process can produce a composite having: a sintered dielectric material of barium titanate and platelets of a polymeric material embedded in the dielectric material. Each of the platelets is perpendicular to a surface of the composite.

A glass ceramic composition of the present invention includes a main component composed of a first glass, a second glass, Al2O3, and SiO2. The first glass is SiO2—K2O—B2O3 based glass. The second glass is MO—SiO2—Al2O3—B2O3 based glass (“M” is an alkaline-earth metal) and/or CaO—SiO2—Al2O3—ZnO—ZrO2—B2O3 based glass. In case that the total amount of the main component is 100 wt %, the main component contains the second glass of 12 to 30 wt %, the first and second glass of 40 to 56 wt % in total, and further Al2O3 of 7 to 18 wt %.

The total molar amount of Al and Si is 2 to 4 parts by mole with respect to 100 parts by mole of Ti, and the content ratio of Al with respect to the total molar amount is 0.2 or less (excluding 0) on the molar ratio basis. The dielectric ceramic may also contain at least one specific rare earth element Re, such as Gd, Tb, or Dy.
