An invasive instrument for treating a vessel, which possibly includes secondary vessels, has a tip formed for the dissection of tissue at the distal end of a shaft to be introduced into the body, with at least one functional unit. The tip includes vessel receptacle means, arranged and formed such that, in the operating condition of the instrument, the functional unit of the shaft is kept clear, so that working on the vessel, a secondary vessel and/or on the surrounding tissue is possible using or by means of the functional unit and with the vessel receiving means the vessel can be fixed in a spatial position. The tip is movable relative to the shaft by means of a guide element and the tip is shiftable in axial direction, so that during the procedure a vessel arranged in the vessel receiving means can be spaced selectively from the functional unit.

A second method and system (1) place in a vicinity of the medium an agent receptive to microwave radiation or radiofrequency radiation, and (2) apply as an initiation energy the microwave radiation or radiofrequency radiation by which the agent directly or indirectly generates emitted light in the infrared, visible, or ultraviolet range to produce at least one of physical and biological changes in the medium.

In one embodiment, this invention relates to an aqueous acid iron phosphorus bath which comprises (A) at least one compound from which iron can be electrolytically deposited, (B) hypophosphite ion, and (C) a sulfur-containing compound selected from sulfoalkylated polyethylene imines, sulfonated safranin dye, and mercapto aliphatic sulfonic acids or alkali metal salts thereof. Optionally, the aqueous acidic iron phosphorus electroplating bath of the invention also may comprise aluminum irons. The alloys which are deposited on the substrates by the process of the present invention are characterized by the presence of iron, phosphorus and sulfur.

A teleconferencing robot for enabling a remote conferee to project a sense of presence into a group meeting. The teleconferencing robot includes: a base; a video monitor movably mounted to the base for receiving and displaying an image of the remote conferee; an attention getting device for getting the attention of conferees in the group meeting; a control device mounted on the base for moving the video monitor and actuating the attention getting device in response to an input control signal derived from a remote signal generated by the remote conferee and sending an outgoing data signal to the remote conferee providing feedback to the remote conferee from the robot; and the video monitor and attention getting device move in response to the input control signal to enable the remote conferee to project a sense of presence into the group meeting, and to confirm the movement by the outgoing data signal.
