    摘要: A system, apparatus and method are described for controlling the gain across one or more amplifier nodes within an optical span. In one embodiment, a fast local amplifier constant gain control loop is provided that maintains a constant gain across an amplifier node for each of the channels within an optical signal. A slow link level gain setting control loop is provided to set and/or adjust the target gain on the amplifier node(s). A gain adjust sequence is performed by the slow link level gain setting control loop to adjust the target gain(s) in response to various events and mechanisms. A “time of flight” protection method is also provided to ensure consistency between the fast local amplifier gain control loop and the slow link level gain setting control loop.

    摘要: An optical communication module comprises a plurality of monolithic semiconductor transmitter photonic integrated circuit (TxPIC) chips each having a plurality of optical signal channels approximating wavelengths on a standardized grid. Each of the channels comprises a laser source optically coupled to an electro-optic modulator. The outputs of the electro-optic modulators are coupled to inputs of an optical combiner integrated on each of the chips for combining the inputs to form a combined signal output from the chip. A second optical combiner combines the combined signal outputs from the TxPICs to form a combined optical signal group output. A booster optical amplifier is optically coupled to the second optical combiner to receive and amplify the combined optical signal group output from the second optical combiner.

    摘要: An anti-rotation clip for preventing rotation of a nut-like member (nut or bolt head) of a flanged connection to facilitate tightening or loosening of the nut-like member and eliminate the need to use two wrenches for tightening or loosening a nut or bolt. The clip is a generally L-shaped member having a horizontal portion and a vertical portion at one end thereof extending generally perpendicular thereto. A polygonal opening extending vertically through the horizontal portion has a plurality of discrete angled sides configured to surround and engage the sides of the nut-like member. The inner surface of the vertical portion is spaced a distance from the opening and is received on the outer surface of a flange with which the nut-like member is associated to prevent rotation of the surrounded nut-like member while torque is applied to a vertically opposed bolt head or nut connected with the surrounded nut-like member such that the nut-like member is prevented from rotating as torque is continued to tighten or loosen the connected nut-like member relative to the opposed bolt head or nut.

    摘要: An implement for stimulation and cleansing of the scalp. An elongate, flexible handle formed by a pair of wire stems extending from a coil is provided. Scalp stimulation tips extend from the ends of the wire stems for being engaged on the scalp beneath a hairpiece. A cleansing pad is slidably mounted on the wire stems for cleansing the scalp. The cleansing pad may be moved between each end of the handle, so as to obscure the stimulation tips for cleansing without stimulation, or moved behind the tips for simultaneous cleansing and stimulation, or still further moved to the far end of the handle for scalp stimulation only.
