Abstract:
An environmental-friendly composite filament artificial leather includes a composite filament textile and an elastomer film. The composite filament textile is made of composite filament. The composite filament includes at least one core portion and a sheath portion. The at least one core portion is a polyester-type polymer, a polyamide polymer or a polypropylene polymer. The sheath portion sheathes the at least one core portion, and the sheath portion is a thermoplastic elastomer. The elastomer film is bonded with the composite filament textile. The elastomer film is made of one selected from the following materials: thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE) and thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO). By this way, an environment-friendly artificial leather of lightweight, good abrasion, good touch feeling and well dimentional stability can be manufactured. Furthermore, the artificial leather can be manufactured without use of any solvent, so as to conform to the environment protection requirement.
Abstract:
An interior trim part made by a method that includes the steps of bringing a fiber web onto a conveyor, needlepunching the fiber web to form a base in contact with the conveyor, and introducing a binder component on the base. The binder component introduced on the base is a thermoplastic polymer in solid form. The method includes a step for heating the base to cause the thermoplastic polymer making up the binder component to penetrate the base over a thickness smaller than the thickness of the base.
Abstract:
A primary carpet backing having at least a nonwoven layer of fibers, the nonwoven layer of fibers including fibers having a higher melting component and a lower melting component, wherein the fibers are 12 to 20 vol. % of the lower melting component. After tufting, a tufted carpet backing having the primary carpet backing exhibits improved stitch holding performance.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a conjugated fiber suitable for use as a crimped fiber capable of producing an artificial leather having highly dense texture and good quality. The present invention also provides a base body for an artificial leather and an artificial leather produced by using such conjugated fiber. The conjugated fiber of the present invention includes a conjugated fiber comprising a readily soluble polyester component and a less readily soluble component, and the readily soluble polyester component comprises a copolymerized polyester having 5 to 10% by mole of 5-sodium sulfoisophthalate copolymerized therewith and the readily soluble polyester component contains a polyalkylene glycol. The polyalkylene glycol is in the form of streaks extending in longitudinal direction of the fiber in the longitudinal cross section of the conjugated fiber.
Abstract:
A primary carpet backing including at least a first and a second layer of fibers, characterized in that both the first and the second layer of fibers is a nonwoven layer of randomly laid fibers, that both the first layer of fibers and the second layer of fibers has a uniform composition throughout the layer, wherein the linear density of the fibers is in the range of 1 to 25 dtex, wherein both the first layer of fibers and second layer includes at least two different polymers and wherein at least one polymer included in the first layer is different from the polymers included in the second layer.

A heat reflective garment interlining laminate is provided that includes a continuous filament layer and a metallized thermoplastic film. The laminate is characteristically low-cost and suitable for such apparel applications as sports clothing, military clothing, camping gear, hunting/fishing clothing, and the like.
Abstract:
A carpet constructed from a biodegradable nonwoven face layer and a backing layer that is biodegradable and/or recyclable. The face layer comprises a needle-punched nonwoven web formed from a blend of different fiber types each of which is biodegradable, the blend comprising face fibers having a relatively high decomposition temperature and thermally activatable binder fibers having a thermal activation temperature lower than the decomposition temperature of the face fibers. The binder fibers bind to one another and to the face fibers. The face fibers can comprise one or more types of fibers that are biodegradable. Suitable fiber types include but are not limited to wool, hemp, cotton, polylactic acid, jute, flax, kanaf, sisal, rayon, and silk. The binder fibers in some embodiments of the invention comprise low-melt polylactic acid.
