摘要: Organic light emitting devices emit light when operated with low dc voltage forward bias. According to the present invention, a space saving circuit arrangement of organic light emitting devices is disclosed, the circuit arrangement emitting light on both the positive and the negative cycle of an ac driving voltage. Furthermore a method is disclosed for producing the circuit arrangement on a substrate. Advantageously, the present invention allows for high voltage ac driving of organic light emitting devices or organic diodes without the need of additional rectifying electronics.

摘要: The invention describes an electroluminescent device equipped with a substrate, a metallic structure and a layer assembly comprising at least a first electrode, an electroluminescent layer and a second electrode. The metallic structure, which is in electrical contact with the first electrode, exhibits a lower layer resistance than the first electrode. Owing to the electrical contact with the first electrode, the layer resistance of the first electrode, and thus the voltage drop over the first electrode, is reduced.

摘要: In the field of flexible displays there is a need for an electro-optic filament that is capable of being woven, knitted or crocheted. An electro-optic filament or fibre (10) includes an elongate core (11) extending lengthwise within a volume (12) of polarisable material; and an outer electrode member (13) overlying the volume (12). The core (11) and outer member (13) are electrically conducting and connectable to electrical potentials to generate a radial field in the polarisable material. The outer member (13) is optically transmissive and/or transflective. The polarisable material (12) exhibits an optical effect such as a colour change, change in polarisation or change in reflectivity, when subjected to a said field or a change in a said field. The filament or fibre may readily be woven into eg. a fabric or a garment, using conventional textile processing machinery.

摘要: A tanning device is described by which the bluish light emitted by mercury vapor lamps is converted into yellow or white light. For this purpose, the mercury lamps, or the sheets of transparent plastics material covering these lamps, are doped or coated with one or more organic or inorganic fluorescent dyes that partially absorb the blue light emitted by the mercury lamps and convert it into light of wavelengths of 550 to 650 nm.

摘要: A plasma picture screen is disclosed. In one embodiment, an AC plasma picture screen with a coplanar arrangement which has an enhanced luminance is provided. A layer, which has a high reflection in the wavelength range of the plasma emission (145 to 200 nm) and a high transmission in the visible wavelength range, is provided on the front plate. The front plate includes a glass plate on which a dielectric layer, a protective layer, a reflective layer are provided. The reflective layer reflects UV light emitted in the direction of the front plate back towards phosphors. The optical properties of the UV light reflecting layer are realized with inorganic particles with a particle diameter of between 200 nm and 500 nm and a layer thickness from 0.5 &mgr;m to 5 &mgr;m, or with agglomerates of inorganic particles with a particle diameter of between 10 nm and 200 nm and a layer thickness of 0.2 &mgr;m to 10 &mgr;m.

摘要: A semiconductor light emitting device comprising a light emitting layer disposed between an n-type region and a p-type region is combined with a ceramic layer which is disposed in a path of light emitted by the light emitting layer. The ceramic layer is composed of or includes a wavelength converting material such as a phosphor. Luminescent ceramic layers according to embodiments of the invention may be more robust and less sensitive to temperature than prior art phosphor layers. In addition, luminescent ceramics may exhibit less scattering and may therefore increase the conversion efficiency over prior art phosphor layers.

摘要: A light emission diode (LED) assembly, comprising a LED die (10), a phosphor layer (12), and a filter layer (14), wherein said filter layer (14) is developed in such a manner that light rays with a wavelength of about 400 nm to 500 nm, preferably of about 420 nm to 490 nm, emitted from the LED die (10) are at least partially reflected depending on their emission angle to the normal on the filter layer (14). With the inventive LED assembly it is possible to provide a LED assembly which solves the yellow ring problem without a reduction of the efficiency of the LED assembly.
