摘要: A rope substitution belt which has a higher strength than a rope having the same mass, has a substantially circular section, and is equipped with belt portions for sewing on both sides. The belt is a narrow width woven fabric (10) including warps (6) and wefts (7) of synthetic fiber filaments. The belt includes a main body portion (2), a belt portion (4) and a connecting portion (3) for connecting the main body portion (2) to the belt portion (4), that are disposed in a longitudinal direction. The main body portion (2) has a structure with wadding yarns (5) which are woven into a hollow woven structure. The warp density coefficient in the hollow woven structure portion (22) is set to be not greater than 0.700. The belt portion (4) has a structure with a part, or the whole, of the wadding yarns (5) which are so arranged as to cross the wefts with the warps (6) of the hollow woven structure of the main body portion (2). The belt portion (4) has a width W which is at least 2.0 times the width W of the main body portion (2). The connecting portion (3) is constituted such that while the width is gradually changed, it step-wise shifts over a plurality of stages to the woven structure of the main body portion (2) or the belt portion (4).

摘要: A brake pressure control apparatus for regulating a brake pressure for braking a wheel of a motor vehicle, the apparatus including a device, for obtaining a wheel speed, a device for obtaining a reference wheel speed, on the basis of a vehicle speed, a commanding device for generating brake control commands for regulating the wheel brake pressure, and a pressure regulator for regulating the brake pressure according to the brake control commands, the apparatus further including an overshoot obtaining device for obtaining an estimated amount of an overshoot drop of the wheel speed, which overshoot drop is estimated to occur after commencement of a decrease of the brake pressure, so that the commanding device generates the brake control commands depending upon whether the wheel speed is higher or lower than a critical wheel speed, that is, the reference wheel speed minus the estimated amount of the overshoot drop of the wheel speed.

摘要: A single-crystal substrate is prepared which has the (100) crystal plane with a step line formed therein by cleaving an MgO single crystal. By evaporating metal onto the cleavage plane, with a mask wire of platinum disposed at a distance from the cleavage plane and extended in a direction across the step line, a pair of metal thin film electrodes separated by a gap are epitaxially grown. By this, a step line corresponding to the cleavage-plane step line is formed in the surface of each of the metal thin film electrodes. Metal is further evaporated onto the metal thin film electrodes at a low rate, by which nano-size thin wires extending along the step lines are grown so that they approach each other and are finally connected to each other.

摘要: An apparatus for calculating vehicle-wheel revolution estimated values detects parameters such as the number of vehicle-wheel revolutions and vehicle-wheel revolution speeds, detects differences between the previous estimated values and the detected parameters or other parameters such as vehicle-wheel revolution speeds and accelerations calculated from the detected parameters, stores the differences at a predetermined rate, determines variations, and updates the estimated values based on the determined variations. Since the variations are determined so that the increase rate of the variations decreases as the accumulated values of the differences increase, lag time is minimized and at the same time noise is eliminated, thus precisely estimating the revolution values of the vehicle wheels. Antiskid control, traction control, and other controls can be effectively executed by using the estimated values even when the vehicle wheels move vertically on rough road surfaces or even when the vehicle wheels are eccentric. Consequently, the braking distance can be reduced, and the braking effects and the durability of control units are enhanced.
