摘要: A steam turbine includes a rotor which extends along a longitudinal axis and having at least two different pressure turbine portions disposed around and along the rotor. Each of the turbine portions has multiple stages. A casing encloses the rotor and has at least one steam inlet. A dummy ring is provided stationarily around the rotor to separate and seal between the two different pressure turbine portions. The dummy ring defines nozzle chamber for receiving the steam from the steam inlet port and a plurality of nozzles for directing the steam from the nozzle chamber toward the higher pressure turbine portion. The dummy ring and the casing define a space therebetween. The space is fluidly connected to the higher pressure turbine portion. A steam passage extends between the space and a steam passage downstream of the last stage of the higher pressure turbine portion. The steam passage allows the steam within the space to flow to the steam passage downstream of the last stage of the higher pressure turbine portion to cool the casing.

摘要: Provided is an industrially useful process for producing an optically active 2-hydroxy-4-arylbutyric acid or its ester. An optically active acyloxysuccinic anhydride is reacted with an aromatic compound in the presence of a Lewis acid to produce an optically active 2-acyloxy-4-oxo-4-arylbutyric acid. The 2-acyloxy-4-oxo-4-arylbutyric acid is converted to an optically active 2-acyloxy-4-arylbutyric acid through catalytic reduction. The 2-acyloxy-4-arylbutyric acid is hydrolyzed in the presence of an acid or an alkali to produce an optically active 2-hydroxy-4-arylbutyric acid. The 2-hydroxy-4-arylbutyric acid is reacted with an alcohol in the presence of an acid to produce an optically active 2-hydroxy-4-arylbutyric acid ester.

摘要: The present invention relates to a leak reducing structure in a steam turbine having high pressure, intermediate pressure, and low pressure turbine sections in a single casing, in which steam leaking from the high pressure side to the intermediate pressure side is recovered to be used effectively. The high pressure, intermediate pressure, and low pressure turbine sections are arranged along a rotor in an external casing. High-pressure steam from a high-pressure steam inlet port passes through a nozzle chamber formed integrally with a dummy ring, and flows into the high pressure turbine section to do work. On the other hand, some of high-pressure steam attempts to leak from a seal portion of the dummy ring to the intermediate pressure turbine section side. However, the leaking steam flows from point X of an external pipe to point Y on the high pressure side to be recovered. Point X is set so as to be a slightly higher pressure point than point Y, and the difference in pressure is regulated by a pressure regulating valve. Therefore, the leaking high-pressure steam is recovered and used effectively, thereby preventing the decrease in performance.

摘要: It is the object of the invention to expand a band width of an amplifier by effectively decreasing wiring capacitances of the amplifier formed in a semiconductor chip. The semiconductor chip is implemented in a package, and an output signal of the amplifier (not shown) formed in the semiconductor chip is supplied to the input terminal of an external buffer amplifier. In various signal paths which connect the output amplifier to the buffer amplifier, a signal wire, which connects the output terminal of the output amplifier to an output pad formed in the circumference of the chip, is provided with a shield wire thereunder. The shield wire is supplied with the output signal of the buffer amplifier. Since the phase and the amplitude of the voltage supplied by the buffer amplifier is nearly the same as those of the signal wire, the wiring capacitance between both wires is equivalently zero.
