    摘要: An Automatic Retransmission reQuest (ARQ) data block reception apparatus and method in a communication system is provided. In the ARQ method, an ARQ feedback Information Element (IE) is transmitted to an ARQ data block transmission apparatus. The ARQ feedback IE includes a first field for indicating a Connection IDentifier (CID) of an ARQ connection, a second field for indicating the presence/absence of an additional ARQ feedback IE after the ARQ feedback IE, a third field for indicating a type of an Acknowledgement (ACK) MAP included in the ARQ feedback IE, a fourth field for indicating a Block Sequence Number (BSN) of an ARQ data block, and m ACK MAP fields. The m ACK MAP fields each include information indicating presence/absence of an additional ACK MAP field after a corresponding ACK MAP field, and an ACK MAP indicating success/failure in normal reception for each of n ARQ data blocks, wherein m and n each denote an integer greater than or equal to 1.

    摘要: An apparatus for measuring a range based on a chaotic ultra wideband (UWB) wireless communication technology is disclosed. The Apparatus includes a chaotic signal generating/modulating unit, a transceiving unit, a detecting unit, a transform unit, a comparison unit, and a range measurement unit. The transform unit converts the analog voltage signal from the detecting unit into digital signals based on a first sampling period. The comparison unit compares the analog voltage signal from the detecting unit with a predetermined threshold value and to output a comparison signal. The range measurement unit is configured to calculate a time point corresponding to a leading edge, which is a moment when initial data of a packet payload arrive, by using the digital signals based on the threshold value and by using the comparison signal, and to perform a range measurement calculation based on the time point corresponding to the leading edge.

The ultra-wideband pulse generator and a method for generating an ultra-wideband pulse therein can easily generate various ultra-wideband pulses having a random center frequency and bandwidth according to digital control schemes in a pulse-based ultra-wideband wireless communication system. The ultra-wideband pulse generator includes: a pulse waveform converting block for converting digital pulse waveform information on a desired ultra-wideband pulse into pulse waveform information having positive and negative signs; an unit pulse generating block for multiplying the converted pulse waveform information by a preset short-width pulse and amplifying the resulting pulses according to gain information of the desired ultra-wideband pulse; a pulse waveform arranging block for arranging the amplified pulses at predetermined delayed intervals; and a pulse waveform shaping block for summing the arranged pulses into a single pulse and integrating the single pulse to output the desired ultra-wideband pulse.

The method includes: forming an organic bottom anti-reflective coating (BARC) layer over a substrate; forming a patterned mask over the organic BARC layer that expose selected portions of the organic BARC layer; etching the exposed portions of the organic BARC layer using an etch gas with high selectivity to the substrate until the substrate underlying the exposed portions of the organic BARC layer is substantially exposed; etching the exposed portions of the substrate to form a plurality of recessed active regions; removing the mask and the organic BARC layer to expose a plurality of protruding active regions defined by the recessed active regions; forming a gate insulation layer over the recessed active regions and the protruding active regions; and forming asymmetric step-structured gates over the gate insulation layer, each gate extending over the corresponding recessed active region and the corresponding protruding active region.
