    摘要: A distributed block frequency converter that combines multiple channel signals into a combined radio frequency (RF) signal suitable for transport via selected media. The converter includes combiners that each combine at least two channel signals into a combined channel signal, an up-converter synthesizer that generates an up-converter local oscillator (LO) signal, up-converter mixers that each mix a combined channel signal with the up-converter LO signal to provide a corresponding intermediate frequency (IF) signal, bandpass filters that each filter an IF signal, down-converter synthesizers, down-converter mixers that each mix a down-converter LO signal with a corresponding filtered signal to provide a corresponding RF signal, and an RF combiner that combines the RF signals into a single RF signal. The down-converter synthesizers are adjustable to achieve frequency agility on a block by block basis.

To achieve this, the transmission system transmits first synchronizing data (HV) for identifying vertical synchronization, second synchronizing data (HDp) for identifying and synchronizing an effective video line, pixel data for the effective video line, a required digital audio signal, and auxiliary control data. The transmission system can reduce a transmission capacity, optimize a transmission format for optical wireless transmission, and decrease a transmission speed.

    摘要: An autostereoscopic image apparatus for picking-up an autostereoscopic image and optically transmitting and displaying the autostereoscopic image. The autostereoscopic image apparatus is constructed by an assembly of a plurality of optical fibers each having an equal length and a lens function. The length of each of a plurality of optical fibers is equal to a length that is integer times as long as one period of an optical path in the optical fiber. The first edge surface of each of a plurality of optical fibers is located on the same plane and forms the first edge surface of the optical fiber assembly. The second edge surface of each of a plurality of optical fibers is located on the same plane and forms the second edge surface of the optical fiber assembly. An arrangement at the first edge surface of the optical fiber assembly at the edge surfaces of a plurality of optical fibers and an arrangement at the second edge surface are equal. An object is picked-up on the first edge surface side of the optical fiber assembly. The picked-up image is transmitted to the second edge surface of the optical fiber assembly and is displayed on the second edge surface side of the optical fiber assembly.

    摘要: An interactive television information system coupled to a cable television system having a headend for supplying information services and an information service distribution network for delivering information services to subscriber televisions. Each subscriber television is associated with a home interface controller. The home interface controllers receive the television information signals and include a data transceiver for data communications. A subscriber selection device associated with a home interface controller permits subscriber interaction through the data transceiver with an assigned interactive controller from a plurality of interactive controllers. The assigned interactive controller is in communication with the information sources and in television communication with its assigned home interface controller. Selection of an information source nay be made through channel selection of an apparent channel from any of a first group of apparent channels and a second group of apparent channels. Different information services on different apparent channels from the first group of apparent channels are provided to a given home interface controller via the same television information signal as the subscriber changes channel selection from one of the apparent channels in the first group of apparent channels to another apparent channel in the first group of apparent channels. To receive apparent channels from the second group of apparent channels, a home interface controller simply selects the television information signal at its input corresponding to the selected channel.

A video on-demand system can be realized without introducing a large scale system such as video server and with a relatively small investment, and the centralization of traffic is mitigated, and the network resource is used efficiently.

The system further includes a plurality of cables selected from the class of fiber optic cables, coaxial cables, and twisted pair wire cables, each extending between a respective one of the distribution unit ports and a respective one of the plurality of outlets, and a plurality of impedance matching devices, where such devices are appropriate for the type or types of cable used. Each of the devices terminates a respective end of a respective one of the cables. Distribution units can be cascaded utilizing combinations of cable, such as coaxial cable or optical fiber cable, to enhance functionality of the system.

    摘要: In optically transmitting a video signal comprised of luminance and chrominance signals which are frequency modulated to provide an FM luminance signal and an FM chrominance signal in respective adjacent frequency bands, such as, 6 to 20 MHz and 20 to 30 MHz, respectively, whereupon, infrared signals corresponding to the FM luminance and chrominance signals are output by respective emitting diodes, a carrier frequency for the FM chrominance signal is set, for example, between 25.93 and 26.08 MHz, so that the lower sideband wave of the FM chrominance signal is spaced by a substantial frequency from a frequency band in which a secondary distortion of the FM luminance signal is substantially generated. Further, the upper sideband wave of the FM chrominance signal is removed, as in a trap circuit, for ensuring that the transmitted FM chrominance signal will be accommodated in the respective frequency band therefor when its carrier frequency is set, as above. When the infrared signals corresponding to the FM luminance and chrominance signals are received by a photodiode and thereby transduced to respective FM modulated components output by the photodiode and then preamplified in common prior to separation, the component corresponding to the FM chrominance signal has the removed upper sideband wave restored by amplitude limiting thereof.

    摘要: A network architecture for delivery of broadcast and interactive digital services over a hybrid fiber-coax distribution system. The network includes at least one remote/local hub that communicates with a plurality of video information providers (VIPs) and a plurality of headends/central offices. Each headend communicates with a plurality of settop terminals. The hub includes a backbone subnetwork which provides the physical medium for components within the hub to communicate with each other, and for entities located outside the hub, such as the VIPs and the headends, to communicate with, and through, the hub. The hub processes broadcast digital information services from a VIP and distributes the services directly to the plurality settop terminals. The network architecture permits two-way transparent data transport service between the VIPs and the video information users. Through frequency division multiplexing, the network architecture facilitates analog signal distribution so both analog and digital services can be distributed.
