Slider contacts in a plurality of contact assemblies slide compliantly to accommodate lack of coplanarity in terminals on the package. A resilient elastomeric block may be inserted through interior spaces of the contact assembly and in interfering relation with features of a housing that supports and aligns the contact assemblies, to apply force to the slider contacts to force them against the microcircuit terminals.

    摘要: An improved blast liner assembly for use in gravel packing or fracturing operations wherein solid materials, in slurry form, are flowed out of the flowbore of a working tool and into the annulus of a wellbore. The blast liner is a cylindrical member that provides a protective shield to the interior retaining section. An angular flow diverter is provided within the blast liner and has a plurality of angled flow diversion channels formed into the inner surface of the blast liner body. Flow of slurry through the blast liner will cause the blast liner to rotate within the retaining section due to the reaction forces imparted to the blast liner from diverting the slurry flow. In this manner, the impingement area presented by the blast liner is increased, and the life of the blast liner extended. The blast liner may also be caused to move axially within the retaining section to further increase the impingement area.

    摘要: An apparatus adapted to examine a length of a cigarette paper is provided. The paper includes a pattern having a first and a second band, the pattern repeating along the length thereof. A second bobbin is configured to have the paper advanced thereto and wound thereon after the paper is unwound from a first bobbin. A pattern detection device is disposed between the first and second bobbins, and is configured to detect at least one of the bands and produce a signal in response thereto. A testing device is in communication with the pattern detection device and is disposed between the first and second bobbins. The testing device is configured to nondestructively determine a property of at least one of the bands in response to the signal. An associated apparatus, system, and method are also provided.

    摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for controlling hydrostatic pressure in drilling fluid in a subsea well. A main pump forces drilling fluid down the drill pipe, out of the end of the drill pipe, and upward in an annulus surrounding the pipe. A rotating drilling head is attached to a wellhead assembly at the sea floor. The drilling head has an inner body rotatably carried in an outer body landed in a bore of a housing. An energizable gripper in a bore of the inner body grips an outer surface of the drill pipe. The drilling head diverts the drilling fluid into a lateral passage in the sidewall of the housing. An auxiliary pump forces seawater through a venturi into a conduit, creating a lower pressure to draw drilling fluid into the conduit to be carried back to the surface vessel. Pressure and flow rate measurements are sent to a control system that modulates the speed of each pump to control hydrostatic pressure.

    摘要: A lightweight and easy-to-operate device for bending expansion loops in coaxial cable includes a bending frame which has on its upper surface pivoted brackets for securing the device to a support cable, so that the device may be slid into position and may be supported by the support cable during operation. The device also includes a pivoted bending handle with a bending shoe, which bending shoe bends and forms the coaxial cable along the profile of an arcuate surface of the frame. The bending handle is easily switched from one end of the frame to the other, to thereby bend both ends of the expansion loop against the arcuate form of the frame.
