Abstract: A system includes an input to receive at least one electrophysiological signal representing cardiac electrical activity measured from a body surface of a patient. The system also includes a signal processor to analyze the at least one electrophysiological signal and compute a score having a value to indicate a likelihood of arrhythmogenic activity, the score being computed as a function of at least two of cycle length, amplitude and polarity of the at least one signal.

Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting a medical emergency related to the driver of a vehicle are described. Various data, such as in-situ biophysical data of the driver, a medical history of the driver, and in-situ motion data of the vehicle, are employed to determine a possible medical emergency. In an event that a medical emergency is detected, the system determines the severity of the emergency and takes appropriate control of the vehicle. If the medical emergency is not life-threatening, the system may drive the vehicle to a safe area, park the vehicle, and then request help from emergency service providers (e.g., ambulance and police). If the medical emergency is severe (e.g., life-threatening), the system may transition the vehicle to an EMS (Emergency Medical Service)-privileged vehicle and autonomously drive the vehicle to an emergency service provider.

Abstract: An alcohol consumption determination method includes detecting a plurality of effective frames of an input voice signal; detecting a difference in signal of within the original signal of each of the effective frames; detecting average energy of the original signal and average energy of the difference signal for each of the effective frames; and determining whether alcohol has been consumed based on a difference between the average energy of the original signal and the average energy of the difference between the signals for each effective frame. Accordingly, it is also possible to determine, from a remote location, whether a driver or an operator remote has consumed alcohol and the degree of inebriation by using a difference signal energy method using a voice signal, thus preventing an accident caused by a operation vehicles and machines under the influence of alcohol.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for determining alcohol consumption capable of analyzing alcohol consumption in a time domain by analyzing a formant slope of a voice signal, and a recording medium and a terminal for carrying out same. An terminal for determining whether a person is drunk comprises: a voice input unit for generating a voice frame by receiving a voice signal; a voiced/unvoiced sound analysis unit for determining whether a received voiced frame corresponds to a voiced sound; a formant frequency extraction unit for extracting a plurality of formant frequencies of the voice frame corresponding to the voiced sound; and an alcohol consumption determining unit for calculating a formant slope between the plurality of formant frequencies, and determining the state of alcohol consumption depending on the formant slope, thereby determining whether a person is drunk by analyzing the formant slope of an inputted voice.

Abstract: A drowsiness detection method that causes a computer to execute a process, the process includes: performing frequency analysis on heartbeat data obtained from a subject; and determining a state of the subject by calculating entropy in a predetermined frequency bandwidth with a peak as a reference, where the peak is within a predetermined frequency range of frequency distribution obtained from the frequency analysis result, determining that the subject is in a relaxation state in a case where the calculated entropy is less than a predetermined threshold value, and determining that the subject is in a drowsiness state in a case where the entropy is equal to or greater than the threshold value.

Abstract: A method and system for monitoring a user's intoxication including receiving a set of signals, derived from a set of samples collected from the user at a set of time points; providing a sobriety task to the user proximal to a time point of the set of time points; generating a performance dataset characterizing performance of the sobriety task by the user; receiving a supplementary dataset characterizing a demographic profile of the user and/or a physiological state of the user; determining a set of values of an intoxication metric, derived from the set of signals; generating a predicted temporal profile of the intoxication metric for the user based upon the set of values, the set of time points, and the supplementary dataset; generating an analysis of the user's sobriety based upon the performance dataset and the predicted temporal profile; and providing a notification to the user based upon the analysis.
