    摘要: A drive package includes a remote located CVT and a motor where the CVT is positioned rearward (or forward) of the motor. An auxiliary drive mechanism couples a drive shaft of the CVT to a crankshaft of the motor. The auxiliary drive mechanism is a belt or chain. The drive shaft is substantially parallel to, and longitudinally offset from, the crankshaft. Thus, the width of the drive package is reduced as compared to ATVs having a CVT located adjacent the motor. A method of making an ATV with the drive package is provided.

    摘要: A dual-independent powertrain for a vehicle includes a transmission enclosure that houses a first transmission and a second transmission that are mechanically decoupled from each other. The enclosure includes a central frame, a first enclosure cover that interfaces with the central frame to collectively define a first transmission region on a first side of the central frame, and a second enclosure cover that interfaces with the central frame to collectively define a second transmission region on a second side of the central frame. The first transmission is housed within the first transmission region, and the second transmission is house within the second transmission region. Each transmission includes a motor-interfacing shaft that interfaces with a respective electric motor, a drive-interfacing shaft that interfaces with a respective drive wheel of a vehicle, and a multi-stage gear train mechanically coupling the motor-interfacing shaft and the drive-interfacing shaft.

    摘要: A torque distribution system for a model racing car includes a front pair of wheels, a front axle, a front differential coupled to the front axle, a rear pair of wheels, a rear axle, a rear differential coupled to the rear axle, a center differential a front driveline coupling the center differential and the front differential, a rear driveline coupling the center differential and the rear differential, and a motor coupled to the center differential. The motor and center differential are mounted in the car at an angular orientation with respect to the centerline. The front and rear drivelines are angularly oriented at different angular orientations. The differing angular orientations of the front and rear drivelines are characterized by corresponding differing amounts of friction, resistance or efficiency of the front and rear drivelines to transmission of torque.

    摘要: A damped propshaft assembly with a hollow shaft and a tuned damper, which is received in the hollow shaft and includes a liner and a damping member. The liner's mass and stiffness are tuned to attenuate one or more of a bending mode vibration and a torsion mode vibration that occurs at a first predetermined frequency. The liner is not configured to substantially damp shell mode vibration that occurs at a frequency that is not equal to the first predetermined frequency. The damping member is coupled to the liner and is configured to primarily attenuate shell mode vibration in the hollow shaft at one or more desired frequencies. The tuned damper attenuates the at least one of the bending moment vibration and the torsion mode vibration at the first predetermined frequency and also attenuates shell mode vibration. A method for forming a damped propshaft assembly is also provided.

    摘要: A hybrid vehicle which is driven using the power of an engine and the power of a drive motor which is driven by an electric power supplied from a battery module, the vehicle including: a propeller shaft which is disposed below a floor panel in a vertical direction of the vehicle extending in a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle, and is configured to transmit the power of the engine and the power of the drive motor to a rear wheel; and a battery pack having the battery module, the battery pack being disposed below the floor panel so as to cover the propeller shaft. The battery pack has a recess formed in a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle, and the propeller shaft is housed in an air guide duet defined by the floor panel and the recess of the battery pack.
