摘要: An ion source includes a plasma generator for supplying plasma at an ionization region proximate to a sample surface. The plasma generator applies energy that may be utilized for desorbing analytes from the sample surface as well as for generating plasma by which analytes are excited or ionized. Desorption and ionization/excitation may be controlled as individual modes. The ion source may be interfaced with an ion-based or optical-based spectrometer. A sample support may be provided, which may be capable of performing analytical separation.

摘要: A fluid transfer device transfers a fluid from a first fluid channel with a first cross-sectional area into a second fluid channel with a second cross-sectional area, larger than the first cross-sectional area. The fluid transfer device includes a fluid inlet interface at which the fluid is transferable from the first fluid channel into the fluid transfer device; an inlet branch configured to split the fluid from the first fluid channel into multiple inlet branch channels; multiple outlet branches, each of which is configured to split the fluid from the inlet branch channels into respective outlet branch channels; and a fluid outlet interface configured to transfer the fluid in the outlet branch channels into the second fluid channel. The inlet and output branches and branch channels are disposed such that the fluid exits from the fluid outlet interface, distributed in a two-dimensional manner across the second cross-sectional area.

摘要: A dilution apparatus (100) for diluting a fluidic sample in accordance with a specifiable dilution ratio, wherein the dilution apparatus (100) comprises a dilution fluid supply device (102) configured for supplying a dilution fluid at a first quantity per time, a transport fluid supply device (104) configured for supplying a transport fluid at a second quantity per time, a first fluid accommodation unit (106) configured for accommodating a first fluid volume, a second fluid accommodation unit (108) configured for accommodating a second fluid volume, and a control device (110, 112) configured for controlling the flow of the dilution fluid, the transport fluid and the fluidic sample so that in a first operation mode, the fluidic sample, being accommodated in the first fluid accommodation unit (106), is forced to flow to the second fluid accommodation unit (108) while being diluted by being mixed with dilution fluid, and in a second operation mode, the mixture of dilution fluid and fluidic sample, being accommodated in the second fluid accommodation unit (108), is forced to flow from the second fluid accommodation unit (108) to the first fluid accommodation unit (106) while being further diluted by being mixed with further dilution fluid.

摘要: The present disclosure provides nucleoside compounds and oligonucleotides including an unnatural 6-amino-2-pyridone heterocyclic base where the 6-amino and 2-positions are protected. The 2-position of the heterocyclic base can be protected with an acyl-oxy-methyl protecting group. In some embodiments, the protected heterocyclic base has the following structure where AcOM is an acetyl-oxy-methyl group and R is a ribose or deoxyribose sugar: Methods for synthesizing an oligonucleotide are provided in which the subject compounds find use. The method can include protecting an unnatural (e.g., Z) nucleotide with an acetyl-oxy-methyl group; incorporating the protected unnatural nucleotide into a nucleotide sequence on a solid support; and removing the acetyl-oxy-methyl group from the unnatural nucleotide incorporated into the nucleotide sequence. The compounds and methods find use in the synthesis of long oligonucleotides including Z nucleotides.
