Abstract:
A display apparatus has a display main body for displaying an image. A base part supports the display part. A stand part has a first end thereof tiltably coupled to the display main body, and a second end thereof detachably coupled to the base part. A locking assembly has a projection provided in one of the stand part and the base part and a coupling unit provided in the other one of the stand part and the base part. The coupling unit and the projection copule the base part and the stand part to prevent the base part from being unintentionally separated from the stand part, and to uncouple the projection to intentionally separate the base part from the stand part. Thus, the display apparatus simply couples and separates a stand part with and from a base part, and substantially prevents the base part from being separated from the stand part by external impacts.
Abstract:
Generally speaking, in accordance with the invention, an optical transmission modulation apparatus is provided for modulating light transmitted through the apparatus. The apparatus comprises a metal film having a periodic array of subwavelength-diameter holes provided therein, and a supporting layer. At least a portion of the supporting layer has a selectively variable refractive index, the selectively variable refractive index portion being substantially adjacent to the metal film such that the metal film and the supporting layer form a perforated metal film unit. Selective variation of the refractive index of the selectively variable refractive index portion modulates the intensity of the light transmitted through the perforated metal film unit without substantially changing the direction of the light. Flat panel displays, spatial light modulators and tunable optical filters based on the optical transmission control apparatus are also provided.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for fabricating a semiconductor laser diode in optical communication system, and the present invention uses both an oxide and a nitride pattern as an etch mask instead of the single oxide pattern in order to decrease the under cut of the edge of the oxide pattern.
Abstract:
A synchronous dynamic random access memory capable of accessing data in a memory cell array therein in synchronism with a system clock from an external system such as a central processing unit (CPU). The synchronous DRAM receives an external clock and includes a plurality of memory banks each including a plurality of memory cells and operable in either an active cycle or a precharge cycle, a circuit for receiving a row address strobe signal and latching a logic level of the row address strobe signal in response to the clock, an address input circuit for receiving an externally generated address selecting one of the memory banks, and a circuit for receiving the latched logic level and the address from the address input circuit and for outputting an activation signal to the memory bank selected by the address and an inactivation signals to unselected memory banks when the latched logic level is a first logic level, so that the selected memory bank responsive to the activation signal operates in the active cycle while the unselected memory banks responsive to the inactivation signals operate in the precharge cycle.
Abstract:
In a semiconductor memory device having a normal memory cell array which includes repeating arrangements of a predetermined data arrangement and whose data is input and output in response to a column select line signal, an arrangement of a redundant cell array is disclosed. The arrangement has the same data arrangement as the minimally repeated unit of said normal memory cell array, wherein the data is in the redundant cell array input and output in response to a redundant column select line signal. According to the arrangement of the redundant cell array, the reliability and yield of the semiconductor memory device are enhanced.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a vehicle, having a cooling air duct disposed within a battery to move cooling air for cooling the battery, so as to enable same to be compact and improve space utilization, in order to optimize cooling performance within a limited space. The vehicle of the present invention also includes a battery-cooling unit that exchanges heat and cools air ventilated from the passenger compartment and then supplies the air to the battery, so as to use the air from the passenger compartment with minimal effects on the air temperature in the passenger compartment, and more efficiently cool the battery. Further, the vehicle and method for controlling same according to the present invention can detect the temperatures of the battery and of the passenger compartment, and determine whether to cool the air in the passenger compartment using a heat exchanger in accordance with each detected temperature, or control the rotation speed of a ventilation fan, in order to more efficiently cool the battery. Accordingly, overheating of the battery can be prevented, and the service life of the battery can be extended. Additionally, the vehicle and method for controlling same according to the present invention involve a dehumidifying unit for supplying cool air inside the battery and dehumidifying the inside of the battery, so as to control the moisture inside the battery and thereby reduce the possibility of electrical hazards and malfunctions occurring due to condensation.
Abstract:
A device (110) and method (700) for providing windows in a multi-environment operating system is provided. A first operating system environment (first OSE) (222) is executed in a native mode on a mobile device (110). The mobile device comprises a first graphical user interface (GUI) 112. The first OSE generates graphical data for a first OSE window (118). The first OSE window can be used on the first GUI for interfacing with the first OSE. A second operating system environment (second OSE) (224) is executed in a native mode on the mobile device, wherein the second OSE generates a GUI desktop (318) that is displayed on a second GUI (312). A second window (320) is rendered on the GUI desktop that comprises the first OSE window. The second OSE communicates relevant events to the first OSE, which are used by the first OSE to update the information used to render the first OSE window within the second OSE window.
