Abstract: Polymeric films, which may be adhesive films, and display devices including such polymeric films, wherein a polymeric film includes: a first polymeric layer having two major surfaces, wherein the first polymeric layer includes a first polymeric matrix and particles. The first polymeric layer includes: a first polymeric matrix having a refractive index ni; and particles having a refractive index n2 uniformly dispersed within the first polymeric matrix; wherein the particles are present in an amount of less than 30 vol-%, based on the volume of the first polymeric layer, and have a particle size range of 400 nanometers (nm) to 3000 nm; and wherein ni is different than n2.

Abstract: A method of making a silyl-terminated polyurethane in an aqueous dispersion aqueous silyl-terminated polyurethane dispersions are described. In one embodiment, the polyurethane comprises a) urethane moieties derived from the reaction of a (i) a diol; (ii) a neutralized anionic water solubilizing compound; and iii) a diisocyanate. The polyurethane also comprises b) silyl terminal groups derived from an alkoxy silane compound having the formula (R3O)3SiR4—Z, wherein R3 is independently hydrogen or a C1-C4 alkyl; R4 is a divalent group selected from alkylene, alkylarylene, oxyalkylene; and Z is selected from the group consisting of —OH, —SH, —NR, —NH2, wherein R is an aromatic or aliphatic cyclic group. The polyurethane also comprises c) urea moieties derived from the reaction of an isocyanate terminated prepolymer and a difunctional hydrazine or hydrazide compound.

Abstract: Provided are one-part, shelf-stable polyurethane aerosol compositions, and related articles and methods. When sprayed onto a substrate and dried, these compositions provide polyurethane films. These polyurethane films display improved moisture resistance, optical clarity, and weatherability compared to known aerosol compositions, particularly in adverse environmental conditions. The compositions generally include an aqueous polyurethane dispersion containing a urethane moiety obtained by reacting (i) a polyol or thiol having isocyanate-reactive functional groups, (ii) a neutralized water-solubilizing compound, and (iii) a diisocyanate and optionally a silane terminal group; a propellant; and optionally one or more additives.

Abstract: There is provided an adhesive composition comprising at least 50 wt % of an aqueous dispersion of an amorphous polyurethane having a Tg below 25° C.; and a water dispersible cross-linker, where the adhesive composition has a peel retention of greater than or equal to 5% according to the Water/IPA Exposure Test.

Abstract: Intermediate laminates and articles comprising a low adhesion backsize coating are described. The laminate comprises a substrate having a major surface and opposing surface and a coating comprising a block copolymer disposed on a major surface of the substrate wherein the block copolymer comprises a polyorganosiloxane block and a polyolefin block, the polyolefin block having a melt point of at least 110° C. Also described are medical dressings comprising such laminate.

Abstract: A polyurethane polymer, a synthetic leather including such polymer, and a method of making such polymer, wherein the polyurethane polymer includes the reaction product of components including: a fluorinated mono-functional alcohol comprising a perfluorinated (C4-C6)alkyl group, a perfluorinated (C4-C6)alkylene group, or both; a fluorinated aliphatic diol comprising a perfluorinated (C4-C6)alkyl group, a perfluorinated (C4-C6)alkylene group, or both; a hydrocarbon diol; and a diisocyanate; wherein at least one of the following conditions is met: the total of the fluorinated aliphatic diol and the mono-functional alcohol is less than 2 wt-% of the components forming the polyurethane polymer; or the total fluorine content is less than 1 wt-% of the polyurethane polymer.
