摘要： A method of manufacturing an electron-emitting device includes providing a pair of electrodes and an electroconductive thin film arranged between the electrodes. The method also includes a step of forming an electron-emitting region in the electroconductive film by the steps of partially modifying the composition of the electroconductive thin film with a chemical change to make a region of the electroconductive thin film have a higher resistivity than a resistivity in other regions, and causing an electric current to run through the electroconductive thin film to form the electron-emitting region in the region having the higher resistivity.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device is constituted by a pair of oppositely disposed substrates each having a plurality of opposing electrodes, and a ferroelectric liquid crystal disposed between the substrates so as to form a plurality of pixels each composed by a combination of a pair of the opposing electrodes and the ferroelectric liquid crystal disposed therebetween. Each pixel is provided with regions of different polarity inversion threshold voltages, and at least one of the pair of opposing electrodes is provided with a plurality of regions having unevennesses at different densities including a region with a higher density of unevennesses corresponding to a region of a lower polarity inversion threshold voltage and a region with a lower density of unevennesses corresponding to a region of a higher polarity inversion threshold voltage.

摘要： An aqueous dispersed resin composition comprising (A) an aqueous dispersion of carbonyl-containing resin particles having an inner layer and an outermost layer, which is obtained by emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture comprising (a) not less than 0.5% by weight of a carbonyl-containing monomer containing at least one aldo group or keto group and one polymerizable unsaturated double bond in the molecule thereof, (b) not less than 0.5% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, (c) not more than 99% by weight of a monomer having a water-solubility of not more than 8 g/100 ml at 20.degree. C., and (d) not more than 99% by weight of an unsaturated monomer other than the monomers (a) to (c) in the presence of dispersed resin particles serving as an inner layer and (B) a hydrophilic compound comprising a hydrazine derivative containing at least two hydrazino groups in the molecule thereof, in which the resin constituting the outermost layer of the carbonyl-containing resin particles has a degree of solubilization of at least 5% by weight, and the resin constituting the inner layer has a degree of solubilization lower than that of the resin constituting the outermost layer. The composition provides a film excellent in water resistance, adhesion to a substrate, smoothness, gloss, and resistance to whitening on contact with water.

摘要： An image forming device includes a head including a nozzle that discharges an electrically-conductive recording liquid in accordance with a driving signal; an intermediate transfer body on which the recording liquid discharged by the head is applied; a voltage apply unit that applies a voltage between the intermediate transfer body and the head, so as to decompose the electrically-conductive recording liquid by electrolysis; a transfer unit that transfers an image supported on the intermediate transfer body onto a recording material; and a discharging control unit that generates the driving signal that causes the electrically-conductive recording liquid to be discharged from the nozzle. The discharging control unit generates the driving signal so that a position of a meniscus is placed outside the nozzle during a time interval in which the recording liquid temporarily bridges between the head and the intermediate transfer body.
