摘要: An engine control device is provided, capable of restarting the engine when starting the vehicle rapidly and without giving any feeling of unease to the driver at the time of starting the vehicle by restarting the engine from the idle stop state. The engine control device comprises an engine stop determination device for determining the propriety of stopping the engine; an engine stop device for stopping the engine based on the determination of the engine stop determination device; an engine start determination device for determining the propriety of starting the engine; an engine starting device for starting the engine based on the determination of the engine start determination device; and a vehicle forward signal state detecting device for detecting the state of the traffic light directly ahead in the vehicle travelling direction; wherein said engine start determination device determines whether it is appropriate to start the engine based on the change of the traffic light state detected by said vehicle forward signal state detecting device, when the engine is stopped by the determination of said engine stop determination device while the vehicle stops during driving.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for controlling an engine idle-stop based on upcoming traffic and road conditions. In one example, a method may include receiving data including traffic information and road characteristics immediately ahead of a vehicle from one or more remote sources, and adjusting one or more vehicle thresholds based on the received data. A duration of a prospective engine idle-stop may be estimated based on the received data and an engine idle-stop may be initiated based on the duration of the prospective engine idle-stop and the adjusted one or more vehicle threshold.

摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to a system and method for providing enhanced operator-controlled fuel saving modes for a vehicle to optimize fuel economy of a vehicle. In one embodiment, the fuel saving optimization system and method enables the operator to create fuel saving configurations which include operator input as to how to operate one or more devices while the vehicle is within a specific locale and under a specific conditions or in response to specific event occurring. The fuel saving optimization system stores each created fuel saving configuration for a future use, and executes each fuel saving configuration when the vehicle is under the specified conditions. In certain embodiments, the input is provided by the operator in real time or can be retrieved via past travel history data on a particular route which is stored in a database.
