    摘要: Sacrificial inserts for use in gas turbine engines to reduce friction and wear damage between compressor fan blades and the fan rotors are disclosed. The consumable metallic shims have low friction and reduce fretting and galling on fan blade roots and fan rotor dovetail slots thereby increasing their operating lives, as well as reduce engine noise and improve engine efficiency. The electroformed, compliant, multi-purpose shims may have variable thickness and, when positioned between the blade dovetail root and the rotor disk dovetail slot, prevent movement and slippage between air foil blades and the rotor.

    摘要: Articles including durable and icephobic polymeric coatings are disclosed. The polymeric coatings include a bonding layer which may contain a substantially fully cured polymeric resin providing excellent adhesion to metallic or polymer substrates. The polymeric coating further includes an outer surface layer which is smooth, hydrophobic and icephobic and, in addition to a substantially fully cured resin, contains silicone comprising additives near the exposed outer surface. The anisotropic polymeric coatings are particularly suited for strong and lightweight parts required in aerospace, automotive and sporting goods applications. A process for making the articles is disclosed as well.

    摘要: A connector forms a releasable connection of a golf club shaft and a golf club head. The connector includes a shaft-mount and a head-mount. The shaft-mount has a first threaded coupling member and a bore that is sized to securely receive the golf club shaft. The head-mount has a second threaded coupling member. The head-mount is sized to be securely received within the bore of the hosel of the golf club head. The first threaded coupling member of the shaft-mount mates with the second threaded coupling member of the head-mount to form a releasable connection of the golf club shaft and the golf club head. The first threaded coupling member of the shaft-mount has dual-handed-thread ability which allows the releasable connection to follow left-handed-thread convention and right-hand-thread convention.
