    摘要: An antenna unit consists of an EBG reflector, a single curl antenna supported at a central portion of the EBG reflector, and a periodic structure upper plate disposed apart from a principal surface of the EBG reflector by a predetermined distance. The EBG reflector includes a substrate having the principal surface and (Nx×Ny) square patches which are printed on the principle surface of the substrate and which are arranged in a matrix fashion (lattice structure). The periodic structure upper plate consists of a film and (Nx×Ny) square patch-like conductors printed on the film. The (Nx×Ny) square patch-like conductors are disposed so as to oppose to the (Nx×Ny) square patches, respectively.

    摘要: A membrane electrode assembly that includes a cathode electrode catalyst layer and an anode electrode catalyst layer respectively disposed on one side and the other side of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, gas diffusion layers disposed respectively on the sides of the electrode catalyst layers; and intermediate layers having pores and disposed respectively between the electrode catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer and between the electrode catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer. The volume per unit area and per unit mass of the pores having pore size of 0.1 to 10 μm in the intermediate layer in the cathode side is larger than that in the intermediate layer in the anode side. The pore volume of the intermediate layer in the cathode side is 1.7 to 4.3 μl/cm2/mg and that of the intermediate layer in the anode side is 0.5 to 1.4 μl/cm2/mg.

    摘要: An electrode structure having a pair of electrode catalyst layers and a polymer electrolyte membrane held between both the electrode catalyst layers is provided. The polymer electrolyte membrane is a sulfonate of a hydrocarbon-based polymer comprising a main chain in which two or more benzene rings are bound together directly or through a divalent group. The membrane includes 5% or more by weight of water coordinated to protons of sulfonic acid groups. The polymer electrolyte membrane may include a fluorine-containing ion conducting polymer such that the ratio of fluorine content in the polymer electrolyte membrane to the fluorine content in the electrode catalyst layers is in the range of from 0.2 to 2.0. The electrode structure constitutes a fuel cell, which generates power when oxidizing gas is supplied to the one side of the electrode structure and reducing gas to the other side.

    摘要: The method for the production of multilayers comprises: applying a coating solution (I) which comprises a dissolved or dispersed proton-conductive polymer and a solvent (Is) containing water in amounts from 25 to 60 wt % and an organic solvent in amounts from 75 down to 40 wt %, on an electrode, applying a coating solution (II) which comprises a dissolved or dispersed proton-conductive polymer and a solvent (IIs) containing water in amounts from 0 to less than 25 wt % and an organic solvent in amounts above 75 wt %, on the wet first coating without any drying of the first coating; and drying the coatings to form an electrolyte membrane. The methods can provide multilayers capable of satisfactory power generation properties as an electrode structure by forming an electrolyte membrane on an electrode without causing any penetration of electrolyte into the electrode.
