摘要： A floatation collar for a sensor package forming part of a detection array comprises two halves that when joined together act as a protective casing that secures and orients a sensor package in an optimal configuration within a water column. The collar comprises a shell tilled with syntactic foam. The cellar top portion includes a series of projections strategically placed to protecting the sensor package transducers against mechanical damage. The base bottom portion of the collar is conical with an integral thimble to allow the collar to ride down and then emerge under a passing trawl net or other fishing lines or cables by presenting a smooth aspect and a secure means of tethering said unit to a bottom anchor.

摘要： A method for introducing instructions/commands within or acting on the content material of a mail run data file. The method comprises the steps producing an object-oriented data file of the mailpiece content material and displaying a visual image thereof to the user. The visual image displayed spatially corresponds to the object oriented data file. Through the use of a graphical user input device, such as a point-and-click input device, the user defines a region of the visual image. Further, the user creates or selects a rule or expression indicative of a desired instruction/command in connection with the defined region. The rule or expression is represented in computer program code and operates a signal processor to perform the selected instructions/commands.

摘要： An optical transmitter comprises a monolithic transmitter photonic integrated circuit (TxPIC) chip that includes an array of modulated sources formed on the PIC chip and having different operating wavelengths approximating a standardized wavelength grid and providing signal outputs of different wavelengths. A wavelength selective combiner is formed on the PIC chip having a wavelength grid passband response approximating the wavelength grid of the standardized wavelength grid. The signal outputs of the modulated sources optically coupled to inputs of the wavelength selective combiner to produce a combined signal output from the combiner. A first wavelength tuning element coupled to each of the modulated sources and a second wavelength tuning element coupled to the wavelength selective combiner. A wavelength monitoring unit is coupled to the wavelength selective combiner to sample the combined signal output. A wavelength control system coupled to the first and second wavelength tuning elements and to said wavelength monitoring unit to receive the sampled combined signal output. The wavelength control system adjusts the respective wavelengths of operation of the modulated sources to approximate or to be chirped to the standardized wavelength grid and for adjusting the optical combiner wavelength grid passband response to approximate the standardized wavelength grid.

摘要： An optical transmitter photonic integrated circuit (TxPIC) comprises a semiconductor monolithic chip with a plurality of optical signal channels where each channel comprises a modulated signal source. The output from the modulated signal sources are coupled to an input of an integrated optical combiner to form a WDM output signal for transmission off the TxPIC chip to an optical transmission link. An optical service channel (OSC) is also integrated on the TxPIC chip to receive a service signal from the optical receiver source which is also coupled the optical transmission link.
