摘要: In order to generate a two-dimensional image of a sample in a short time using THz waves, provided is a reflective imaging device including a sample holder, a THz wave light source, a THz wave camera, a rotation mechanism for rotating the holder and the camera, and a processing unit. A sample unit includes an incidence member, a sample, and a reflection member. The sample includes a first region of only a membrane and a second region including a biopolymer. The camera detects, with regard to respective incident angles, a THz wave in which interference occurs between a component reflected at an interface between the incidence member and the sample and a component reflected at an interface between the sample and the reflection member, of each portion of the sample unit, and outputs a signal. The processing unit specifies an incident angle at which a signal of a first THz wave that interferes in the first region is relatively small and a signal of a second THz that interferes in the second region is relatively large, and generates a two-dimensional image of the sample based on the signal from the camera with regard to the specified incident angle.

摘要: A color identifying device includes a mount block, a color detector, a lens and a color identifier. A reactive board having a plurality of surfaces to be measured in respective predetermined positions is mounted in the mount block. The color detector has a plurality of color measuring areas corresponding respectively to the reaction surfaces of the reactive board mounted in the mount block. The lens forms images of the surfaces of the reactive board mounted in the mount block on the respective color measuring areas. The color identifier identifies the colors of the surfaces based on output signals from the corresponding color measuring areas.

摘要: An ink jet printer connected to a personal computer and normally driven by a PC battery accommodated in the personal computer. The ink jet printer detachably accommodates therein an auxiliary battery. The printer has a control portion and a driving portion for moving a print head. If a voltage level of the PC battery becomes less than a threshold voltage during printing operation, the electrical connection between the PC battery and the control portion is maintained, whereas a power source to the driving portion is switched from the PC battery to the auxiliary battery. After the printing operation is completed, a power source to the control portion is switched from the PC battery to the auxiliary battery.

摘要: An infrared photosensitive area is constituted by an infrared ray absorbing part that is heated by infrared rays, a thermal detector that detects the temperature change of the infrared ray absorbing part, and electrodes that are electrically connected to the thermal detector. The infrared photosensitive area is held up above one surface of a substrate by supports. The electrodes of the infrared photosensitive area are electrically connected to contact pads on the substrate by wiring material that constitutes the support. A shield projects from portions of the infrared ray absorbing part other than portions that correspond to the electrodes. The contact pads of the substrate and the surfaces of the electrodes and the supports that are directed away from the substrate are covered by the shield with an interposed space. This configuration enables an increase in the fill factor of the picture elements of the thermal infrared detector and enables greater absorption of infrared light.

摘要: In order to achieve an aspect of the present invention, a rear vehicle detecting apparatus of a vehicle include an alarm unit, a temperature detecting section, a reference temperature data generating section, a comparing section, and a drive section. The temperature detecting section detects a first temperature data based on heat radiated from another vehicle which exists behind the vehicle. The reference temperature data generating section generates a second temperature data as a reference. The comparing section compares the first temperature data and the second temperature data. The driving section drives the alarm unit based on the comparing result by the comparing section.

摘要: At a heat treatment temperature in a reducing atmosphere of Ar and H.sub.2, a precursory film of V.sub.2 O.sub.5 is reduced into a VO.sub.x film with the heat treatment temperature selected in a predetermined temperature range between 350 .degree. C. and 450.degree. C., both exclusive, to control a resistivity of the VO.sub.x film, where x is greater than 1.875 and less than 2.0. The VO.sub.x film is not susceptible to a metal-semiconductor phase transition inevitable in VO.sub.2 at about 70.degree. C. and is excellent for use in a bolometer-type infrared sensor. When reduced at 350.degree. C. and 450.degree. C. the resistivity and its temperature coefficient of the VO.sub.x film at room temperature are 0.5 and 0.002 .OMEGA. cm and -2.2% and 0.2% per degree Celsius.

摘要: A method for producing a steel section by a rolling process including a rough rolling step, an intermediate rolling step and a finishing rolling step. The intermediate rolling step comprises water-cooling the flange portion of the rough-rolled steel section between rolling passes in the intermediate rolling step to cool the surface layer of the flange to a temperature not higher than 750.degree. C., and rolling the flange portion during recuperation of the surface layer of the flange at least one time between the rolling passes with a total draft not less than 20% and at an average rolling temperature not higher than 950.degree. C. and, after the finishing rolling step the outer surface of the flange is cooled at a cooling rate ranging from 0.5.degree. to 10.degree. C./sec depending on the thickness of the flange. Also the carbon equivalent of the steel is controlled. The advantage is that steel sections of various contours and dimensions can be produced from minimized varieties of steel compositions.
