Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an adhesive tape and to a method for jacketing an elongated item, more particularly cable sets. The adhesive tape comprises a tapelike carrier provided on at least one side with an adhesive layer which consists of a self-adhesive, pressure-sensitive adhesive, characterized in that the self-adhesive pressure-sensitive adhesive is a UV-curable composition comprising, based on the total weight of the composition: 15 to 50 parts by weight of matrix polymer; 50 to 85 parts by weight of epoxy resin; 0.1 to 3 parts by weight of photoinitiator, with the matrix polymer forming a self-supporting film in which epoxy resin and photoinitiator are embedded.

Abstract: The aim is to provide an adhesive tape that effectively protects an electronic construction from permeants, especially water, and that at the same time has good gap-filling qualities. To solve this problem an adhesive tape is proposed that has in the following order:—a carrier layer without barrier effect at least towards water and with a WVTR of at least 1 g/(m2*d) (38° C., 90% relative humidity, 50 μm layer thickness); —a layer comprising at least one getter material capable of sorbing at least water; —a water barrier ply; and—a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive, where the carrier layer bears an outward-facing release layer and/or the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive is lined with a release liner which has a release layer lying on the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive.

Abstract: The invention relates to a joining method wherein a first surface (2) of a first adherend (1) and a second surface (8) of a second adherend (6) are bonded to one another by provision of an adhesive tape (3) having a first side (4) and a second side (7), there being disposed on the first side (4) a first activatable adhesive and on the second side (7) a second activatable adhesive, the latter being an activatable pressure-sensitive adhesive, the first side (4) of the adhesive tape (3) is contacted with the first surface (2) of the first adherend (1) to produce a preliminary assembly, the second surface (8) of the second adherend (6) is joined in a joining movement to the second side (7) of the adhesive tape (3), the joining movement having a tangential component and a perpendicular component relative to the second side (7) of the adhesive tape (3), with a ratio between tangential and perpendicular components of greater than 0.5, where a region of contact between second surface (8) of the second adherend (6) and second side (7) of the adhesive tape (3) is provided with a nonaqueous lubricant.
