摘要: A tube-in-tube assembled parison for preparation of an elongated medical device. The parison if formed by assembling in tube-in-tube fashion a first tube of orientable polymer material and a second tube formed of orientable polymer material disposed around the first tube, with an adhesive tie layer disposed between the first and second tubes. The tubes are brought into contact to form a unitary parison. The adhesive may allow movement between the polymer layers during balloon blowing. The first tube, or the second tube, or both, may have been longitudinally pre-stretched after formation thereof but before assembly of the parison.

This then allows supplying and buffering next tubular foil (308) supplied from the next supply. The device and method allow connecting the ends of tubular foils (304, 309) by opening the end (309) of the next flattened tubular foil (308) supplied from the next supply and moving the end of the flattened tubular foil (304) in an upstream direction (299) into the opened end of next tubular foil (309) from the next supply. Connection is made using a tape (250, 270) applied onto the foil ends (304, 309).

摘要: A vascular closure device that includes an inflation tube, a flashback tube, a dual lumen tube, a bond portion, and an inflatable balloon. The inflation tube defines an inflation lumen. The flashback tube defines a flashback lumen. The dual lumen tube has first and second lumens and is positioned distal of the inflation tube and flashback tube. The inflation tube and flashback tube are integrally connected to the dual lumen tube at the bond portion with the inflation lumen in fluid communication with the first lumen and the flashback lumen in fluid communication with the second lumen. The inflatable balloon is mounted at a distal end of the dual lumen tube and is in fluid communication with the inflation lumen.

摘要: Various coupling agents are disclosed to form lap joints between metallic and polymeric surfaces within catheters and other medical devices. The coupling agents disclosed in the present invention can be applied directly to a metallic surface, or the coupling agents may be incorporated within a polymeric material. In certain circumstances, the mere application of the coupling agent between the two dissimilar materials provides sufficient adhesive strength to form a fatigue-free lap joint bond. Alternative methods utilize coupling agents as primers for later thermal bonding and laser welding procedures that form lap joint bonds.

摘要: A multi-lumen catheter and method of manufacturing such a multi-lumen catheter having a plurality of individual catheter tubes. Each catheter tube has an outer surface, an inner surface and a lumen. The catheter tubes can be made of different thermoplastic materials. A mandrel is first inserted into the lumen of each catheter tube to provide support. The catheter tubes are then juxtaposed to each other in an arrangement. Importantly, the outer surface of one catheter tube is in contact with the outer surface of at least one other catheter tube in the arrangement. The arrangement of catheter tubes is then held in a sleeve and is advanced through the sleeve, and through a heating cylinder to fuse the outer surfaces of the catheter tubes. A cooling means is placed in the lumen of each catheter tube to prevent the inner surface of each catheter tube from melting.
