    摘要: A rhizopus oryzae strain, mutagenesis and screening methods thereof, and methods of producing fumaric acid by fermentation. The strain is named as Rhizopus oryzae ME-F13, and deposited in China Center for Type Culture Collection with depository number CCTCC M 2010351. The strain is obtained by physically mutagenizing the original strain ME-F12 through ion injection, culturing the processed bacteria on the solid selective plate containing 2-D-deoxylucose (2-DG) and picking up 2-DG-resistant single colony. The strain is capable of simultaneously saccharifying starchy material and fermenting it to produce fumaric acid. With an improved enzymatic activity, the strain can be directly used to ferment raw starchy materials without needing pre-saccharifying.

    摘要: A new stable combination of Rhizopus arrhizus lipase and Pseudomonas fluorescens lipase for hydrolyzing triglycerides to free glycerol in body fluids is disclosed. Substantially complete and rapid hydrolysis is provided by a mixture of enzymes using a ratio between 2:1 and 10:1, about 5:1 being preferred, the amounts representing units of activity of each lipase. Approximately 150 units of total lipases will provide substantially complete hydrolysis of the triglycerides contained in 20 microliters of serum up to a minimum concentration of 5 g./l. within 2.5 minutes at 37.degree. C.

    摘要: Compounds of formula (I): ##STR1## (wherein R represents a group of formula ##STR2## and the corresponding ring-closed lactones, salts (especially alkali metal salts) and esters (especially C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl esters) thereof may be prepared by subjecting ML-236B, or ML-236B carboxylic acid or a salt or ester thereof to enzymatic hydroxylation, which may be effected by means of microorganisms of the genera Mucor, Rhizopus, Zygorynchus, Circinella, Actinomucor, Gongornella, Phycomyces, Martierella, Pycnoporus, Rhizoctonia, Absidia, Cunninghamella, Syncephalastrum and Streptomyces, or cell-free, enzyme-containing extracts from said microorganisms. The compounds are capable of inhibiting biosynthesis of cholesterol and are thus useful in the treatment of hypercholesteraemia.
