    摘要: An exhaust gas treatment assembly for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine includes a housing defining a longitudinal axis. A first exhaust gas treatment unit is inserted in the housing and has a first casing and at least one first exhaust gas treatment unit carried in the first casing. A second exhaust gas treatment unit is inserted in the housing and has a second casing and at least one second exhaust gas treatment unit carried therein. A locking arrangement is for locking a first exhaust gas treatment unit in the housing at least against movement in the direction of the longitudinal axis in a locked state, wherein, when the first exhaust gas treatment unit and the second exhaust gas treatment unit are inserted in the housing, the locking arrangement is blocked in the locked state by the second exhaust gas treatment unit.

    摘要: A honeycomb body configuration includes a metal housing accommodating a honeycomb body having a plurality of channels separated from one another by dividing walls. The honeycomb body has varying radial strength along its periphery. A compensation layer is disposed at least in partial regions of the periphery between the housing and the honeycomb body. The compensation layer has at least two support sections in the peripheral direction of the honeycomb body which exert greater forces in the radial direction upon the honeycomb body than outside the support sections in remaining peripheral regions. The support sections are disposed in regions where the honeycomb body has greater radial strength. Steps can be taken to produce the support sections on the compensation layer, by using support segments on the housing and/or beads on the honeycomb body, in each case in the peripheral regions of greater strength. The invention is particularly suitable for simple and sound installation of thin-walled extruded ceramic honeycomb bodies in metal housings.

A locking element (19) is axially supported on a support contour (20), is formed on the jacket (6) in the pushing-in direction (9), and is provided on the inner side (17) of the housing.

    摘要: A catalytic converter apparatus includes a housing having an inlet port, an outlet port, a chamber, an access opening, and an interior sealing surface generally encompassing a periphery of one of the inlet and outlet ports in the chamber. A substrate assembly is insertable into the chamber and removable from the chamber through the access opening, and includes a catalyst matrix for treating fluid. A positioning mechanism removably supports the substrate assembly within the chamber so that movement of the substrate assembly in a lateral direction generally parallel to the interior sealing surface moves the substrate assembly in an axial direction generally perpendicular to the interior sealing surface. The positioning mechanism may guide the substrate assembly in the axial direction into sealing engagement with the one of the inlet and outlet ports to provide a fluid flow path through the catalyst matrix between the inlet and outlet ports.

    摘要: A method is provided for producing a metallic catalyst support. In producing the metallic catalyst support, a first metal foil having a planar profile or slightly corrugated profile, a second metal foil having a corrugated profile and an external cylinder are prepared. The first and second metal foils are rolled up in a multilayered superimposed state to form a honeycomb body with a spiral roll form. The honeycomb body is fitted into the external cylinder, which has an inside diameter larger than an outside diameter of the honeycomb body. Pressure is simultaneously applied to the external cylinder into which the honeycomb body has been fitted and to the honeycomb body from outside towards inside of the external cylinder to squeeze-down and to induce plastic deformation in an outside edge section of the honeycomb body so that tight contact is made with the external cylinder.
