    摘要: A ceramic-backed elbow featuring an extended chamber which alters the flow of fluent through the elbow section. This chamber is lined with a ceramic material and ceramic tiles. The remainder of the elbow is similarly coated with a ceramic mixture. The elbow could be placed into a coating pan upon the tiles being adhered to the elbow, and the entire elbow may be coated with an abrasive-resistant coating. A thin metal skin may then be applied over the entire surface of the coating.

    摘要: The invention relates to the manufacture of protective coatings onto interior surface of long-length tubes or pipes having relatively small diameter, in order to prevent corrosion-, erosion-, or wear damage of said surface. The method for manufacturing a tube comprising an embedded corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant-coating, wherein the tube consists of an external tube layer, a bond layer, a corrosion- and wear-resistant coating, and an internal tube layer, includes: depositing the corrosion- and wear-resistant coating (CWRC) onto outer surface of the internal tube, depositing a bonding material onto CWRC, inserting the internal tube with deposited CWRC and bond material into the external tube to provide an embedded CWRC between external and internal tube layers, and bonding both tubes with the interior CWRC in one solid structure. A crack-healing compound or release compound is additionally deposited onto internal tube before CWRC, which is preferably alumina ceramic or hard thermal-sprayed alloy. CWRC can be multilayer coating that includes said internal tube embedded between CWRC layers.

    摘要: A method to improve corrosion, abrasion, and fire resistant properties of structural components for use in oil, gas, exploration, refining and petrochemical applications is provided. The structural component is suitable for as refinery and/or petrochemical process equipment and piping, include but are not limited to process vessels, transfer lines and process pipes, heat exchangers, cyclones, and distillation columns. The method comprises providing the structural component with a plurality of layers, a corrosion resistant layer in contact with the corrosive petroleum products comprising a material selected from amorphous metals, ceramic materials, or combinations thereof; a structural layer; and an outer layer comprising a fire resistive material. In one embodiment, the structural component is further provided with at least another layer selected from a metal sheeting layer, an adhesive layer, and a containment layer. The structural component is characterized as having excellent corrosion/abrasion/erosion properties and fire-resistant properties.

This device can be guided along the pipe (11) to be coated, wherein a fluid (16) containing the coating active agent is supplied to the interior of the pipe. The combined heating and cooling treatment for the pipe supports the process of coating formation. The cooling process is subject to a desired profile by the use of the cooling area (22) and is not determined by chance, in contrast to the cooling process in the prior art.

    摘要: Cooling steam delivery tubes extend axially along the outer rim of a gas turbine rotor for supplying cooling steam to and returning spent cooling steam from the turbine buckets. Because of the high friction forces at the interface of the tubes and supporting elements due to rotor rotation, a low coefficient of friction coating is provided at the interface of the tubes and support elements. On each surface, a first coating of a cobalt-based alloy is sprayed onto the surface at high temperature. A portion of the first coating is machined off to provide a smooth, hard surface. A second ceramic-based solid film lubricant is sprayed onto the first coating. By reducing the resistance to axial displacement of the tubes relative to the supporting elements due to thermal expansion, the service life of the tubes is substantially extended.

    摘要: In a glass or ceramic-lined reactor vessel for use with corrosive contents, to repair damage of glass lining and surface of a nozzle, damaged portions of the nozzle are cleaned and brought to a sound surface; recess is filled with a curable resin; the nozzle and adjacent portions of the reactor vessel are then sheathed with a two piece metal cover, the metal being such as is substantially inert under the conditions of use of the equipment being repaired; the cover comprising essentially an outer facepiece with a returning flange that sheaths the outer edge of the face flange of the nozzle; and a crimped inner facepiece each being produced or fabricated to define a tubular central extension such that as both pieces are in place they mate to sheath nozzle interior completely; any gap between repair sheath and covered surface being filled with a curable resin filler that is inert and insoluble when cured; the nozzle being held securely in place with cooperating inert gasket engaging the crimped interior face as curable resin is cured.
