    摘要: A high-luminance plasma display panel has at least has a plurality of discharge cells including a phosphor film emitting visible rays by excitation caused by ultraviolet light generated by the discharge of a discharge gas. The phosphor film has at least two layers of a phosphor layer and a reflecting layer, and the phosphor layer is arranged closer to the discharge space side than the reflecting layer. A film thickness Wt of the phosphor film is 40 μm or less, and a film thickness Wp of the phosphor layer, a particle diameter dp of a phosphor that is at least a part of components of the phosphor layer, a film thickness Wr of the reflecting layer, and a particle diameter dr of a reflecting material that is at least a part of components of the reflecting layer satisfy 2dp≦Wp≦5dp and 2dr≦Wr≦Wt−Wp.

    摘要: Method and system for an up conversion lighting system for use with displays. The system includes an up converter-semiconductor light source for emitting an up conversion emission and a spectrally selective optical element in the path of the emission for selectively passing selected wavelengths. The optical element has a coating selected to pass selected wavelengths. The up converter-semiconductor light source includes an up converter for emitting the up conversion emission, a semiconductor light source coupled with the up converter to excite an up conversion material within the up converter to emit an up conversion emission and a spatial light modulator for modulating the up conversion emission. For a full color display, the up converter includes a red, green and blue up converter and a separate a light source coupled with the red, green and blue up converters. The spectrally selectively optical element can be a spectrally selectively beam splitter having a film coating that is selected to transmit selected wavelengths.

For example, a first layer of relatively large size phosphor particles may be provided between a second layer of relatively small size phosphor particles and the LED. The large particles can provide high brightness and the small particles can reduce angular color temperature variation in emitted light.

    摘要: A display device, which can be a plasma display panel or a highly loaded fluorescent lamp, comprises a hollow, translucent glass body containing a medium capable of generating at least several wavelengths of UV radiation. A plurality of phosphors is disposed on the inside surface of the glass body and emits visible radiation upon exposure to the UV radiation. The blue BAM phosphor is most subject to degradation upon long-term exposure to at least one UV wavelength that may be available. The blue BAM along with the red YOE and green CAT phosphors are installed adjacent the inside surface of the glass body to form a first layer; and, the red YOE phosphor is disposed on the first layer to form a second layer, the second layer not being subject to long-term UV degradation. In some embodiments, a layer of alumina may be deposited under the first phosphor layer.

    摘要: A display device (10) (FIG. 1) which can be a plasma display panel or a highly loaded fluorescent lamp, comprises a hollow, translucent glass body (12) containing a medium capable of generating at least several wavelengths of UV radiation. A plurality of phosphors is disposed on the inside surface of the glass body, the plurality of phosphors emitting visible radiation upon exposure to the UV radiation. At least one of the plurality of phosphors is subject to degradation upon long-term exposure to one of the at least one of several wavelengths of UV radiation that may be available. The at least one of the plurality of phosphors subject to degradation is installed (FIG. 2) adjacent the inside surface (14) of the glass body to form a first layer (16); and, the remainder of the plurality of phosphors is disposed on the first layer to form a second layer (18), the second layer not being subject to long-term degradation upon exposure to the UV radiation. In some embodiments (FIG. 3) a layer of alumina (20) may first be applied to the inside surface (14) of the glass and the first phosphor (22) applied over the alumina.
