摘要: A tap coupler includes a mode generation unit, a separation unit, and an output unit. The mode generation unit generates, in accordance with a discontinuous portion disposed on a travelling path of signal light that is propagating, a first mode of the signal light and a second mode that is different from the first mode. The separation unit separates, when the first mode and the second mode are input from the mode generation unit, the first mode and the second mode. The output unit outputs branch light in accordance with a transition of the second mode received from the separation unit.

摘要: To autonomously apply a bias voltage to an optical modulator according to phase angle information provided from outside in a pluggable optical module. A pluggable electric connector (11) can communicate a communication data signal and a control signal with an optical communication apparatus (92). An optical signal output unit (13) includes a Mach-Zehnder type optical modulator including a phase modulation area and outputs an optical modulation signal (LS) modulated according to the communication data signal. An optical power control unit (14) can control optical power of the optical modulation signal (LS). A pluggable optical receptor (15) can output the optical modulation signal (LS) to an optical fiber (91). A control unit (12) controls a modulation operation of the optical signal output unit (13) and the bias voltage applied to the phase modulation area. The control unit (12) determines the bias voltage applied to the phase modulation area according to phase angle information of the control signal (CON1). The optical signal output unit (13) applies the bias voltage determined by the control unit (12) to the phase modulation area.

摘要: A single-fiber bidirectional optical assembly includes an optical emitter, an optical receiver, a lens assembly, a first filter, a second filter, an optical power attenuator, and an optical fiber interface end. The optical fiber interface end is used for being connected to an optical fiber, a downlink optical signal emitted by the optical emitter is focused by the lens assembly and is then emitted to the optical fiber sequentially through the first filter and the optical fiber interface end and is transmitted by the optical fiber, and an uplink optical signal transmitted by the optical fiber passes through the second filter and is then received by the optical receiver. The optical power attenuator is arranged between the optical emitter and the optical fiber interface end, and the transmittance of the optical power attenuator varies with the wavelength of the optical signal.

摘要: In a system for converting digital data into a modulated optical signal, an electrically controllable device, including a modulator having one or more actuating electrodes, provides an analog-modulated optical signal that is modulated in response to output data bits of a digital-to-digital mapping. A digital-to-digital conversion provides the mapping of input data words to the output data bits. The mapping enables adjustments to correct for non-linearities and other undesirable characteristics, thereby improving signal quality.

摘要: A fully connectorized optic fiber tap assembly is described that includes a first upstream connector interface configured to receive a downstream connector of a first upstream optic fiber line, and a first downstream connector interface configured to receive an upstream connector of a first downstream optic fiber line. The tap assembly further includes a set of service drop line connector interfaces. Moreover, an optic fiber tap of the assembly is configured to: receive an optical signal from the upstream connector interface, extract a portion of the optical signal, direct the extracted portion of the optical signal to the set of service drop line connector interfaces, and pass a remaining portion of the optical signal to the downstream connector interface. The fully connectorized optic fiber tap assembly is configured to be connected to the first upstream optic fiber line and the first downstream optic fiber line without splicing.

The transceiver is arranged to mate with the first and second connectors so that at least some converted electrical signals are transmitted to the first connector and so that at least some electrical signals received from the cable are transmitted to the second connector.

摘要: A waveguide apparatus includes a planar waveguide and at least one optical diffraction element (DOE) that provides a plurality of optical paths between an exterior and interior of the planar waveguide. A phase profile of the DOE may combine a linear diffraction grating with a circular lens, to shape a wave front and produce beams with desired focus. Waveguide apparati may be assembled to create multiple focal planes. The DOE may have a low diffraction efficiency, and planar waveguides may be transparent when viewed normally, allowing passage of light from an ambient environment (e.g., real world) useful in AR systems. Light may be returned for temporally sequentially passes through the planar waveguide. The DOE(s) may be fixed or may have dynamically adjustable characteristics. An optical coupler system may couple images to the waveguide apparatus from a projector, for instance a biaxially scanning cantilevered optical fiber tip.

The first receiving module is configured to receive a second modulated optical signal from the second optical transmission apparatus, and receive the second unmodulated optical signal from the first circulator. The second modulated optical signal is obtained by modulating a first unmodulated optical signal, the second unmodulated optical signal is used to perform coherence detection on the second modulated optical signal, and the third unmodulated optical signal is an optical signal provided by the first optical transmission apparatus to the second optical transmission apparatus.
