The system includes a power source configured to generate a plasma arc, and a plasma arc torch connected to the power source for delivering the plasma arc to a workpiece. The plasma arc torch defines a multi-function fluid flow path for sustaining the plasma arc and cooling the plasma arc torch such that the plasma cutting system has a power-to-gas flow ratio of at least 2 kilowatts per cubic feet per minute (KW/cfm). The power-to-gas flow ratio comprises a ratio of power of the generated plasma arc to a total gas flow supplied to the plasma arc torch.

    摘要: The invention relates to a plasma source with an oscillator having an active element and a resonator connected to the active element. The resonator has a hollow body, a gas inlet, a gas outlet arranged at a distal end of the hollow body about a longitudinal axis of the hollow body, and a coil arranged along the longitudinal axis of the hollow body, said coil having an effective length of one quarter of a wavelength at a resonant frequency of the resonator. A distal end of the coil is arranged relative to the gas outlet such that a plasma section can form between the distal end of the coil serving as a first plasma electrode and the gas outlet of the hollow body serving as a second plasma electrode. At a proximal end of the hollow body, the coil is lead out of the interior of the hollow body through an electrically contact-free feed-through, and a proximal end of the coil contacts the hollow body at its external side. At a first contact region located between the proximal end of the coil and the feed-through, the coil is coupled to a first gate of the active element, and at a second contact region located between the proximal end of the coil and the feed-through, the coil is coupled to a second gate of the active element.

    摘要: A hand-held device and a method for plasma treatment of workpieces. The hand-held device comprises a housing for receiving a plasma source supplied with a gas stream from a gas supply unit. Further, an electrode unit is arranged in the plasma source and connected via an electrical line with a voltage source so that a plasma stream can be produced. The plasma stream can be directed through a nozzle of the housing onto a workpiece. The hand-held device comprises a sensor system for the collection of operating parameters which includes at least one operator sensor device for collecting a position of an operator relative to the plasma source and at least one pressure sensor for the collection of a pressure in the gas supply unit. Means of the hand-held device is communicatively connected with the sensor system for detecting the collected operating parameter via control data lines.
