    摘要: A method for manufacturing a hollow hydro-formed product using a multi-tube assembly is provided, which comprises the steps of: (a) stably placing a multi-tube assembly in a Die, the hollow inner tube having fluid channel holes radially formed therethrough; (b) injecting fluid into the inner periphery of the inner tube; (c) applying fluid pressure to the inner periphery of the outer tube by the fluid while the fluid is discharged through the fluid channel holes of the inner tube; and (d) obtaining a formed product having an intended outer peripheral shape completed according to diameter-enlargement and plastic deformation of the outer tube. The inner periphery of the outer tube is pressed and hydro-formed by discharging the fluid through the fluid channel holes of the inner tube formed through the inner tube of the multi-tube assembly.

    摘要: A method of incremental autofrettage is taught herein, whereby the cycle life of a metal liner in a pressure vessel is increased. This method serves to increase the yield strength of the metal liner through sequential work hardening due to repeated autofrettage at increasing pressures. By incrementally increasing the internal pressure used in the autofrettage process, the compressive stresses at an inner surface of the metal liner may be controlled so that post-pressurization buckling does not occur, yet the yield strength of the metal liner is substantially increased. The higher compressive stresses in the metal liner mean that higher Maximum Expected Operating Pressures (MEOPs) may be used without detracting from the cycle life of the metal liner, or alternatively, for lower pressures, a longer metal liner cycle life may be obtained. Either internal or external pressures may be used, generated by a pressure source, or a suitable die.

    摘要: Disclosed are a double water pipe manufactured via hydroforming and a method of manufacturing the same via hydroforming. The method includes (a) inserting an inner pipe into an outer pipe made of steel, the inner pipe being made of a corrosion resistant material selected from among stainless steel, titanium and aluminum, and having a smaller outer diameter than an inner diameter of the outer pipe; (b) placing the outer pipe on a die unit and sealing opposite ends of the die unit with sealing members each having a through-hole connected to a fluid supply unit for supplying a fluid to the inner pipe; (c) supplying the fluid to the inner pipe to perform plastic expansion of the inner pipe and elastic expansion of the outer pipe; and (d) discharging the fluid from the inner pipe to allow frictional coupling between the inner pipe and the outer pipe through elastic restoration of the outer pipe.

    摘要: To produce an elongate hollow metal body with a cross-sectional contour varying in the longitudinal direction by the internal high-pressure forming process in an internal high-pressure forming press, a sheet-metal blank composed of two blank parts of identical area is first produced, each part having, apart from additional joining-area parts provided in the region of the longitudinal edges, in the longitudinal direction at least the length of the longitudinal hollow body and in the transverse direction at most half the length of the respective cross-sectional contour. Subsequently, the two blank parts are laid one on top of the other and are joined together, in particular welded, in the region of the joining-area parts. Thereafter, the sheet-metal blank is expanded by introducing a pressure medium between the two blank parts held within a tool consisting of two dies. The tool is so shaped that, when it is closed onto the blank, it produces a curved shape in the blank, with the result that the hollow body produced by expansion is curved and can have a cross-sectional contour which varies along its length.
