    摘要: An engine fuel supply apparatus includes: a fuel chamber provided in a carburetor; a first communication passage for opening the interior of the fuel chamber to the atmosphere; a second communication passage for communicating the interior of the fuel chamber with the interior of a Venturi section; and a passage switching section capable of switching between the first and second communication passages and mechanically connected to the main switch so that it can operate in response to the main switch shifting between an ignition position and a stop position. The passage switching section switches the second communication passage to the first communication passage in response to the main switch shifting from the stop position to the ignition position and switches the first communication passage to the second communication passage in response to the main switch shifting from the ignition position to the stop position.

    摘要: A carburetor has a housing wherein a control drum is rotatably mounted. A section of an intake channel is formed in the carburetor. A subsection of this section is formed in the control drum. The control drum controls the free flow cross section of the intake channel. A fuel opening is connected to a fuel chamber via an unbranched fuel channel which opens into the subsection of the intake channel. A simple configuration of the carburetor is achieved by the carburetor including an electrically actuated valve which controls the flow of fuel through the fuel channel. For a method for operating an internal combustion engine with a carburetor, a temperature (T) is determined before or during the starting of the engine and that the flow of fuel through the fuel channel during the starting of the engine is controlled in dependence upon the temperature (T).

    摘要: An evaporative emissions control system for carburetors used in the internal combustion engines of vehicles, such as motorcycles, has an evaporative emissions control valve attached to the carburetor in the air intake path to the carburetor. The evaporative emissions control valve may be implemented as a sub-assembly add-on or as an integral part of a carburetor or back plate. The evaporative emissions control valve includes a valve, such as a rotatable plate valve, which may be electrically operated by an electrical actuator, such as a dual-wound solenoid actuator. At engine start-up, when the vehicle ignition switch and starter switch are both closed, both windings of the solenoid actuator are energized to provide a strong opening force for the evaporative emission control valve. During steady-state running of the engine, only a single solenoid winding is energized by the power provided through the ignition switch, to maintain the evaporative emissions control valve in the open position. When the ignition switch is opened and the engine is turned off, the evaporative emissions control valve is closed to prevent the release of fuel vapors from the carburetor. A vacuum controlled switch may be used to delay closing of the evaporative emissions control valve after the ignition is turned off for a sufficient time to prevent fuel pooling in the carburetor. A passage may be provided in a shaft of the control valve to selectively control venting of the carburetor fuel bowl, opening the vent during engine operation while closing the fuel bowl vent to prevent evaporative emissions therefrom when the engine is not in operation.

A butterfly valve used for fuel control upstream of a carburetor provides non-linear flow response during opening and closing and a flow compensator compensates for the non-linear response. A throttle valve position sensor acts in association with a controller which compares the throttle valve position signal with a predetermined set point and thereby opens or closes the waste gate of the turbo charger which affects oxygen content in the exhaust. A compensator for a throttle valve used with electronic engine controllers is also provided.
