摘要: There is provided a method for heating a thermoplastic plate to be subjected to bending which is horizontally arranged while holding at least part of a peripheral edge portion of the thermoplastic plate, causing a portion inside the peripheral edge portion to sag under a self-weight, and bending the thermoplastic plate to a desired curvature. The method includes applying tension in a planar direction of the thermoplastic plate at the time of holding at least the part of the peripheral edge portion of the thermoplastic plate in a molding frame defining a peripheral edge shape in a shape as a goal for reshaping. Since the thermoplastic plate is pulled in the planar direction during the heating of the thermoplastic plate, moderate tension acts on the thermoplastic plate to prevent breakage. The degree of curvature of the thermoplastic plate can be adjusted by adjusting the mass of each weight.

摘要: The present invention relates to a molded part, in particular, to an interior panel component for a motor vehicle, having a core layer comprising a mixture of natural or synthetic fibers and thermoplastic binding fibers, which are processed to form a nonwoven, and a thermoplastic cover layer, the core layer and the cover layer being fused together and the cover layer being such that the molded part has a visible surface, which is terminated by the cover layer, the visual appearance of the visible surface being at least shaped by the fibers of the core layer. The present invention furthermore relates to the manufacturing of a molded part in which the nonwoven of the core layer is warmed and pre-compressed in a contact heater, and the compressed nonwoven, together with the cover layer is introduced into a mold and recast.

摘要: In an example method, a NWM molding blank, including a non-woven material held in compression by a binder, is placed in a separable mold, and heated to a melting temperature of the binder. The molding blank expands, forming as an intermediate NWM object a NWM molded object with a 3D geometric form. The intermediate NWM object is cooled through a temperature band with an upper boundary and a lower boundary, and further cooled to a solidifying temperature of the binder. The upper boundary is above the solidifying temperature and the upper boundary is lower than the binder melting temperature. While in the temperature band, the mold is separated, rendering accessible an exposed surface of the intermediate NWM object. The object is then transported to a contoured forming surface of a forming base, by an actuatable arm having an end effector gripping the exposed surface via vacuum suction, lifting the object from the mold and placing the object on the contoured forming surface. Optionally, the end effector contact surface includes a final forming feature. The actuatable arm compresses the intermediate NWM object against the contoured forming surface, and the optional end effector final forming feature and continues compressing until cooling to the solidifying temperature.

摘要: Methods of manufacturing multi-material fibers having one or more electrically-connectable devices disposed therein are described. In certain instances, the methods include the steps of: positioning the electrically-connectable device(s) within a corresponding pocket provided in a preform material; positioning a first electrical conductor longitudinally within a first conduit provided in the preform material; and drawing the multi-material fiber by causing the preform material to flow, such that the first electrical conductor extends within the multi-material fiber along a longitudinal axis thereof and makes an electrical contact with a first electrode located on each electrically-connectable device. A metallurgical bond may be formed between the first electrical conductor and the first electrode while drawing the multi-material fiber and/or, after drawing the multi-material fiber, the first electrical conductor may be located substantially along a neutral axis of the multi-material fiber.

摘要: A device for thermosetting a knitted fabric includes a first tool half and a second tool half. The first tool half and the second tool half in a closed position enclose a cavity in which the knitted fabric is receivable. Each of the first tool half and the second tool half have a respective shape-imparting effective surface by way of which an external form of the knitted fabric is determinable. The device further includes a heating installation where thermal energy is introducible into the knitted fabric via the heating installation.
