摘要: Provided are oriented biodegradable thermoplastic polyurethane films. The films may be prepared by extruding and drawing biodegradable polyurethane films. The polyurethanes may be prepared from biodegradable polyols and/or biodegradable chain extenders. The films possess high tensile strength yet are degradable under biological conditions. The films may be utilized in the fabrication of devices, particularly implantable medical devices.

摘要: The present disclosure provides oriented multilayer films including a first layer, a second layer disposed on the first layer and a third layer disposed on the second layer, where the first layer and the third layer include a polyethylene independently selected from (i) a polyethylene having a density of about 0.94 g/cc or greater; (ii) a polyethylene copolymer including ethylene and a C4-C12 alpha-olefin and having a density 7 from about 0.927 g/cc to about 0.95 g/cc; or (iii) a mixture thereof, and at least one of the first layer or the third layer includes the polyethylene copolymer, the second layer includes a polyethylene composition having a density of about 0.91 g/cc or greater and the oriented multilayer film has a haze of about 10% or less and a 1% secant modulus in the direction of stretching of about 500 MPa or greater.

摘要: An oriented film including poly(ethylene-2,5-furandicarboxylate) is produced in a process by preparing a sheet from a poly(ethylene-2,5-furandicarboxylate) resin by heat processing, which sheet has a thickness of at most 2.5 mm; allowing the sheet to cool; and stretching the cooled sheet in at least one direction with a stretch ratio of at least 4/1 at a temperature in the range of 90 to 130° C., yielding an oriented film. The oriented film has a thickness of 1 to 400 μm and a tensile strength at break of at least 100 MPa.

摘要: A polymer film for laminating onto a metal substrate (M), the polymer film including an adhesion layer (A) and a bulk layer (B), wherein the adhesion layer is intended for bonding to the metal substrate and includes 20 to 50 wt. % of a non-crystallisable copolyester, 50 to 80 wt. % of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and 0-10 wt. % of polymers and additives, and wherein the bulk layer consists of is at least 91 wt. % of PBT and at most 9% of other polymers and additives.

摘要: An integral polymer grid with a plurality of interconnected, oriented polyethylene terephthalate strands and an array of openings therein is made from a polyethylene terephthalate sheet-like starting material having holes or depressions therein that form the openings when the sheet-like material is uniaxially or biaxially stretched. The grid has a higher tensile strength to weight ratio and a higher creep reduced strength to weight ratio than corresponding ratios associated with a grid made from a non-polyethylene terephthalate starting material.

摘要: A transparent multilayer coextruded heat shrinkable barrier film is useful for high-value packaging applications such as food and medical device packaging. The transparent multilayer coextruded heat shrinkable barrier film includes first and second outer layers formed using a transparent polyester or polyester copolymer; an inner nanolayer sequence including a plurality of nanolayers a) including ethylene vinyl alcohol, alternating with nanolayers b) including at least one of ethylene ethyl acrylate, low density polyethylene and linear low density polyethylene, each of the nanolayers b) having a degree of crystallinity less than about 45%; and adhesive layers between each of the two outer layers and the inner nanolayer sequence. The film has a light transmittance of at least about 80% and a heat shrunk of at least about ten percent in at least one direction.
