Generally described, aspects of the disclosed subject matter are directed to managing the configuration of a vehicle. In accordance with one embodiment, a method of modifying the configuration of a vehicle based on the vehicle's location is provided. The method includes receiving, from a remote Satellite Positioning System ("SPS") device, positioning data that identifies the location of the vehicle. Then, the positioning data is used to identify one or more regulations that are applicable, given the location of the vehicle. Based on collected vehicle readings, a determination is made regarding whether the configuration of the vehicle should be modified. In turn, the method may cause the configuration of the vehicle to be modified to comply with the one or more regulations.

A method of and system for detecting absolute acceleration along various axes relative to a desired movement vector while moving relative to a gravity source includes steps of determining a vertical acceleration, perpendicular to the desired movement vector and substantially anti-parallel to a gravitational acceleration due to the gravity source; determining a longitudinal acceleration, parallel to the desired movement vector and to output at vertical acceleration signal and a longitudinal acceleration signal; determining an inclination of the desired movement vector relative to the gravitational acceleration; and processing the vertical acceleration signal, the longitudinal acceleration signal, and the inclination signal to produce an absolute vertical acceleration signal and an absolute longitudinal acceleration signal.

Disclosed is an electronic system for a motor vehicle, comprising an electronic control device which is coupled to electronic control devices of other electronic systems of the vehicle via an electronic communication system in order to cooperate with said other electronic systems by exchanging data. Electronic sensor devices which control and/or regulate operating states of the vehicle detect parameters that are related to said operating states of the vehicle. The aim of the invention is to improve said electronic system so as to create cost-related and functional advantages. Said aim is achieved by the fact that at least one of the electronic sensor devices is received in one of the electronic control devices.

The tilt warning system (1) is arranged to generate tilt information during the driving of a route to be followed on a road by a vehicle driven by a person. This tilt information relates to the possible tilting of the vehicle on a port of the route still to be driven. The system is provided with a location determining device (2) for determining the position of the vehicle, route determining means (6) for determining, by means of the position of the vehicle(4), the route information about the part of the route still to be driven, at least one state estimator (16) for generating the vehicle state information. Furthermore, the vehicle comprises a central processing unit (14) which processes the vehicle state information (18) and the route information in combination to gain the above tilt information.

The invention relates to the detection of surfaces of sections of the ground based on a scanning beam, by means of evaluation of the reflected received scanning beam. The scanning beam is formed from the useful signal beam of an external system and/or provided by one or more satellites (1), GPS L-band or DBS C-band. The invention provides for means for detecting the surface condition in relation to the type and condition of road surface covering. Polarisation conditions are compared with the unreflected reference at stationary beacons (5) using autocorrelation and FFT for a static classifier. Examples of types of surfaces and conditions are asphalt, tar, sand, gravel and paving stones, dry or wet conditions and ice and snow.

Ein System zum Anpassen einer Höhe zumindest eines Teiles eines Nutzfahrzeuges an zumindest einem vorbestimmten Ort ist offenbart, wobei das Nutzfahrzeug eine Positionsbestimmungseinrichtung (40) und eine Höheneinstelleinrichtung (50) aufweist, die ausgebildet sind, um eine Position des Nutzfahrzeuges zu bestimmen und eine Höhe des zumindest einen Teils des Nutzfahrzeuges über einen Untergrund zu ändern. Das System umfasst eine Schnittstelle (120) zum Empfangen von Daten, die eine Zielhöhe des zumindest einen Teils des Nutzfahrzeuges an dem vorbestimmten Ort anzeigen; und eine Steuereinheit (110), die an die Positionsbestimmungseinrichtung (40) und an die Höheneinstelleinrichtung (50) koppelbar und ausgebildet ist, um basierend auf einer ermittelten Position die Höheneinstelleinrichtung (50) des Nutzfahrzeuges zu veranlassen, die Höhe des zumindest einen Teils des Nutzfahrzeuges an die Zielhöhe anzupassen.

A modular system for an automotive vehicle configured to permit removal of a removable structural module from and reattachment to an automotive vehicle is described. The system includes a removable structural module comprising a body, a support structure configured to receive and support the removable structural module and to permit the removable structural module to be releasably attached to an automotive vehicle, a sensing arrangement configured to permit confirmation of secure attachment of the removable structural module to the automotive vehicle and configured to permit identification of a predetermined type of the removable structural module, and a computer configured to identify the predetermined type of the removable structural module from among multiple possible predetermined types of removable structural modules. The removable structural module comprises multiple connecting structures that permit the removable structural module to be releasably secured to the automotive vehicle.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Regeln eines aktiven Fahrwerks eines Fahrzeugs in Abhängigkeit von Straßenhöhenprofildaten, die in einer Prognose einer Trajektorie des Fahrzeugs liegen, wobei die Prognose der Trajektorie mittels eines dynamischen mathematischen Modells mindestens auf Grundlage von Lenkwinkeldaten eines Lenkwinkelsensors des Fahrzeugs berechnet wird, und wobei der Prognose der Trajektorie jeweilige, durch mindestens einen Umfeldsensor erfasste Straßenhohenprofildaten zugeordnet werden, wobei anhand der Prognose mindestens ein Aktor des aktiven Fahrwerks geregelt wird, und wobei die Prognose der Trajektorie ausschließlich dann zum Regeln des aktiven Fahrwerks verwendet wird, wenn die Trajektorie in einem Bereich liegt, der anhand von durch den mindestens einen Umfeldsensor erfassten Umfelddaten als befahrbar klassifiziert wurde.

It is described a control system of a vehicle dynamics, comprising, in combination: - a processing and control electronic unit (10), arranged to adjust predetermined parameters of at least one vehicle dynamics control function; - an on-board telematics platform (30), connected to said processing and control electronic unit (10), adapted to establish a communication link (L) with an autonomous portable personal electronic device (T), arranged to allow inputting adjustment data of the above-mentioned control function, wherein the control unit (10) is so arranged as to assume a first autonomous operative condition, wherein it is adapted to implement applications based on resident control strategies, and a second coupled operative condition, wherein it is adapted to establish a communication with the on-board telematics platform (30) to receive adjustment data of the control function which are emitted by the portable personal electronic device (T), and to implement the control function based on the adjustment data received.

The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for managing and audit-ing purchases in progress which are made by a number of individuals belonging to a liable organisation, such as employees making purchases in parallel on behalf of a company. The invention comprises a managing server, including a storage means and issuing means, a client terminal connected to a network for providing information to the storage means about purchasing rules for individuals purchasing on behalf of their organisation. The issuing means is adapted to generate a unique num-ber, the number being issued and distributed to a purchasing individual, in dependence on the purchasing rules and a first communication terminal operated by a provider is adapted to, in response to a purchase, provide information to the managing server relating to a purchase in progress. Moreover, the invention is characterised in that the server is adapted examine whether information provided is in accordance with the purchasing rules, as a result of which a notification is sent to the first communication terminal so as to validate the purchase.
