Abstract:
The present invention is directed to carbon monoxide oxidation reactions in the presence of an O 2 containing gas, nitrogen oxide conversion reactions, volatile organic compound conversion reactions in the presence of an O 2 containing gas, and combinations thereof, and catalysts for use in those reactions. The catalyst comprises cobalt, its oxides or mixtures thereof and ruthenium, its oxides or mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
Metal complexes comprising certain polydentate heteroatom containing ligands, catalysts, and coordination polymerization processes employing the same are suitably employed to prepare polymers having desirable physical properties.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing techniques for mixing liquid components. Quantities of two or more liquid components are transferred from pressurized source reservoirs to one or more destination locations by means of a fluid outlet that includes a dispense valve, and the two or more liquid components are mixed in the destination locations to create a plurality of fluid mixtures. Two or more dispensing technologies can be combined to provide for increased efficiency in the dispensing of high volume liquid components. The amounts of liquid components being dispensed can be monitored during the dispensing to provide feedback control of the dispensing.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for evaluating catalytic performance of members of a catalytic library, the apparatus comprising a reaction vessel assembly comprising a plurality of reaction vessels adapted for receiving catalyst library members, each of the plurality of vessels having an inlet and an outlet; a fluid handling system for providing fluid flow simultaneously through the plurality of vessels; and a detector for simultaneously analyzing vessel effluents of at least two of the plurality of vessels, the fluid handling system comprising an entrance control volume in fluid communication with the inlet of each of the plurality of vessels, a plurality of flow restrictors, and an exit control volume in fluid communication with the outlet of each of the plurality of vessels, each of the plurality of flow restrictors being other than a flow controller and being arranged upstream or downstream of one of the plurality of vessels, and wherein each of the plurality of flow restrictors provides fluid communication between one of the plurality of vessels and the entrance control volume or the exit control volume, and wherein maintaining a pressure in the entrance control volume higher than in the exit control volume results in fluid flow through the vessels, the flow restrictors being adapted such that the resistance to fluid flow is greatest in the flow restrictors and the resistance to fluid flow in each of the flow restrictors is approximately the same so that fluid flow through the vessels is apportioned approximately equally between each of the plurality of vessels.

Abstract:
Described is a method of making an array of materials, said method comprising: (a) delivering a first component of a first material and a first component of a second material to first and second regions on a substrate; (b) delivering a second component of said first material and a second component of said second material to said first and second regions on said substrate; and (c) simultaneously reacting said components to form at least two materials.
Abstract:
The present invention relates, inter alia, to methodologies for the synthesis, screening and characterization of organometallic compounds and catalysts (e.g. homogeneous catalysts). The methods of the present invention provide for the combinatorial synthesis, screening and characterization of libraries of supported and unsupported organometallic compounds and catalysts (e.g. homogeneous catalysts). The methods of the present invention can be applied to the preparation and screening of large numbers of organometallic compounds which can be used not only as catalysts (homogeneous catalysts), but also as additives and therapeutic agents.
Abstract:
A method of preparing and delivering a slurry into a series of vessels in a reactor, said method comprising: (1) mixing a particulate solid material and a liquid dispersing medium and agitating the mixture to form a substantially homogeneous first slurry in which said particulate solid material is suspended in the liquid; (2) aspirating said first slurry into a cannula carried by a robot system while the slurry is substantially homogeneous; (3) operating the robot system to insert the cannula into the reactor;(4) delivering the slurry from the cannula into the vessel while the cannula is in said reactor; and (5) repeating (2)-(4) for a second vessel with said first slurry or repeating (2)-(4) for a second vessel with a second slurry.
