Abstract: A planar light source includes: a support member including a wiring substrate, a light guide member, a light source disposed in a hole of the light guide member, and a first reinforcing member disposed on the support member and surrounding the light guide member in a plan view. The first reinforcing member includes first and second portions extending in a first direction and facing each other, and includes third and fourth portions extending in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction and facing each other. At least one of the first portion, the second portion, the third portion, and the fourth portion has light reflectivity to light emitted from the light source. In the plan view, the light guide member is located between the first and second portions in the second direction, and is located between the third and fourth portions in the first direction.

Abstract: A light emitting device includes a light emitting element including a first surface; a light guide member covering at least a part of a lateral surface of the light emitting element; a first wavelength conversion member covering the first surface and including a first wavelength conversion particles; and a reflective member being in contact with the light emitting element. The first wavelength conversion member has a thickness of 60 μm or more and 120 μm or less. The first wavelength conversion particles have an average particle size of 4 μm or longer and 12 μm or smaller; the first wavelength conversion particles have a central particle size of 4 μm or longer and 12 μm or smaller. A weight ratio of the first wavelength conversion particles is 60% by weight or more and 75% by weight or less with respect to the total weight of the first wavelength conversion member.

Abstract: A light distribution method is for an adaptive driving beam headlamp system including a light emitting device, an on-board camera and an electronic control unit. The light distribution method includes: obtaining data indicative of a state in front of a vehicle by the on-board camera; computing one or more of: attributes of an object in front of the vehicle; attributes of a vehicle ahead; a speed of the vehicle ahead; a distance between vehicles; brightness of the object; and a road shape; determining a light distribution pattern; determining a control amount indicative of at least one of an ON or OFF state of each of the light emitting elements and an applied power to each of the light emitting elements according to the light distribution pattern determined; and controlling driving of the adaptive driving beam headlamp system based on the control amount determined.

Abstract: A light emitting device includes a plurality of light emitting elements, a light-transmissive member, and a covering member. The light emitting elements each has a pair of electrodes on a lower surface thereof. The light-transmissive member includes a plurality of recesses on a lower surface thereof with the light emitting elements being respectively accommodated in the recesses so that light from the light emitting elements transmits through the light-transmissive member. The covering member surrounds an outer periphery of each of the light emitting elements, and constitutes a part of a lower surface and a part of an outermost lateral surface of the light emitting device. The covering member is in contact with a part of each of the light emitting elements. Lower surfaces of the electrodes are exposed from the covering member at the lower surface of the light emitting device.
