摘要: A method for detecting glow ignition of a fuel-air mixture in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine having at least one first cylinder and at least one second cylinder, the at least one first and second cylinders being connected by a crankshaft, according to which method partial segment times of the at least one first cylinder are measured. The method is characterized in that partial segment times of the at least one second cylinder are measured and a reference characteristic for the glow ignition is formed by a comparison of partial segment times of the at least one first cylinder with partial segment times of the at least one second cylinder and subsequently a signal is generated for the detection of the glow ignition on the basis of the comparison.

摘要: A controller for a gas engine includes a cycle detection unit 67 configured to detect a crank angle period of a single combustion cycle of an engine including a plurality of cylinders based on a crank angle detection value inputted from a crank angle detector 75, a misfire detection unit 69 configured to detect a misfire in a combustion chamber 37 based on an in-cylinder pressure detection value inputted from the in-cylinder pressure detector 59, and a simultaneous misfire determination unit 73 configured to determine a simultaneous misfire of more than one cylinder when a total number of cylinders where the misfire is detected in the single combustion cycle by the misfire detection unit 69 is not less than a preset threshold value of a cylinder number. The fuel gas to all of the cylinders is shut off when the simultaneous misfire of more than one cylinder in the single combustion cycle is determined by the simultaneous misfire determination unit 73.

摘要: A process is provided for improving combustion control and fuel efficiency in rotary and reciprocating IC engines by enabling leaner combustion at higher compression ratios using less heat for ignition. Embodiments employ secondary chambers of minimal total volume within a cylinder periphery. These chambers communicate with a main chamber via conduits and enable a radical ignition (“RI”) species generation and supply process that starts in earlier cycles to be augmented and used in later cycles. Measures regulate the RI species generated and provided to the main chamber. These species alter dominant chain-initiation reactions of the combustion ignition mechanism. Also employed when preferable are fluids of higher heat of vaporization and volatility but lower ignitability than the fuel. This process improves combustion in radical ignition engines and radical augmented spark and compression ignition engines.

摘要: An in-vehicle engine control apparatus allowing split injection frequency or split injection of fuel while preventing a driving switch element for fuel injecting electromagnetic coils and a boosting switch element for generating a boosted high voltage from being overheated. An operation control circuit portion has reference data of measured environmental temperature vs allowable engine rotational speed with a selected value of the split injection frequency being a parameter, and determines the selected value having, as an upper limit, a split injection frequency which makes the internal temperature of the boosting switch element or a rapidly exciting switch element a predetermined allowable limit value in association with the present environmental temperature detected by an average environmental temperature detection element in a case and the present engine rotational speed detected by an engine rotation sensor.

摘要: A control method includes an electronic waste gate actuator (EWGA) and a waste gate valve, connected to each other through a rod. The control method includes an operation condition determination step for determining whether an engine is in cold operation or hot operation by measuring engine soak time and initial coolant temperature when the engine starts and by comparing them with a predetermined reference soak time and reference coolant temperature. The control method also includes a cold control step for setting cold operation reference voltage, performing cold operation learning, and applying cold operation learning data to the cold operation reference voltage, when the engine is in cold operation. The control method further includes a hot control step for setting hot operation reference voltage, performing hot operation learning, and applying hot operation learning data to the hot operation reference voltage, when the engine is in hot operation.

摘要: A cylinder control system of a vehicle includes a cylinder control module and an air per cylinder (APC) prediction module. The cylinder control module determines a desired cylinder activation/deactivation sequence. The cylinder control module also activates and deactivates valves of cylinders of an engine based on the desired cylinder activation/deactivation sequence. The APC prediction module predicts an amount of air that will be trapped within a next activated cylinder in a firing order of the cylinders based on a cylinder activation/deactivation sequence of the last Q cylinders in the firing order. Q is an integer greater than one.

The control system includes an exhaust variable valve mechanism for changing an operation mode of an exhaust valve, a fuel injection controlling module for controlling a fuel injector to inject fuel at a fuel injection timing associated with an operating state of the engine, a variable valve mechanism controlling module for operating the exhaust valve via the exhaust variable valve mechanism in a first operation mode when the operating state of the engine is within a compression self-ignition range, and in a second operation mode when the operating state of the engine is within a spark-ignition range, and a first in-cylinder state quantity estimating module for estimating a first state quantity inside the cylinder relating to a burned gas amount within the cylinder.
