摘要: The present invention is directed to products, such as paper and paperboard products, comprising a substrate containing cellulose and top ply comprising microfibrillated cellulose and inorganic particulate, to methods of making such paper and paperboard products, and associated uses of such paper and paperboard products. The microfibrillated cellulose and inorganic particulate material are applied at the stage when the wet substrate is in the process of being formed on the wire of a papermaking machine, thereby avoiding the additional cost of more extensive equipment and machinery as well as in separate drying of a coating. The microfibrillated cellulose facilitates the application of inorganic particulate onto the surface of a wet paper or paperboard substrate when applied thusly, by trapping the inorganic particulate on the surface of the substrate and by giving the composite sufficient strength and a suitable pore structure to make it suitable for printing and other end-use demands.

摘要: Tissue paper of the disclosure exhibits advantageous softness and bulk at a basis weight less than that of basis weights found in currently available commercial tissue products, while delivering adequate strength for machine runability and consumer usage. This tissue is a lightweight paper that comprises a fiber core with up to 60% mechanically fibrillated fibers and a retention or drainage aid such as a cationic polyacrylamide polymer that facilitates drainage, softness, and bulk. This approach can reduce the fiber content of tissue products significantly while delivering the desired strength and other critical properties.

摘要: Processes disclosed are capable of converting biomass into high-crystallinity nanocellulose with surprisingly low mechanical energy input. In some variations, the process includes fractionating biomass with an acid (such as sulfur dioxide), a solvent (such as ethanol), and water, to generate cellulose-rich solids and a liquid containing hemicellulose and lignin; and mechanically treating the cellulose-rich solids to form nanofibrils and/or nanocrystals. The crystallinity of the nanocellulose material may be 80% or higher, translating into good reinforcing properties for composites. The nanocellulose material may include nanofibrillated cellulose, nanocrystalline cellulose, or both. In some embodiments, the nanocellulose material is hydrophobic via deposition of some lignin onto the cellulose surface. Optionally, sugars derived from amorphous cellulose and hemicellulose may be separately fermented, such as to monomers for various polymers. These polymers may be combined with the nanocellulose to form completely renewable composites.

摘要: The present invention is directed to products, such as paper and paperboard products, comprising a substrate containing a recycled cellulose-containing material and top ply comprising one or more inorganic particulate material; to methods of making such paper and paperboard products, and associated uses of such paper and paperboard products. The microfibrillated cellulose and inorganic particulate material are applied at a stage when the substrate comprising a wet web of pulp is in the process of being formed on the wire of a papermaking machine, thereby avoiding the additional cost of more extensive equipment and machinery as well as in separate drying of a coating. The microfibrillated cellulose facilitates the application of inorganic particulate onto the surface of a wet paper or paperboard substrate.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a film comprising highly refined cellulose fibers in a paper-making machine, the method comprising the steps of: a) providing an aqueous pulp suspension comprising at least 20% by dry weight of highly refined cellulose fibers having an SR (Schopper-Riegier) value in the range of 80-100 at a consistency in the range of 0.8-3 wt % and; b) deflocculating and diluting the aqueous pulp suspension to a lower consistency in the range of 0.1-1.5 wt % by injecting the aqueous pulp suspension into an aqueous stream using a high shear mixer to obtain a diluted aqueous pulp suspension; and c) feeding the diluted aqueous pulp suspension to a headbox of the paper-making machine.

摘要: Fiberboard sheet materials containing cellulosic fibers ae disclosed in which cellulose nanofibrils are used as a binder for adhering the cellulosic fibers together. The cellulose nanofibrils are present in an amount of 0.5% to 7.5% by weight on a dry weight basis of the fiberboard sheet. The fiberboard sheet materials have strength properties that meet or exceed the requirements in ASTM C208, and are useful for structural sheathing and roofing board applications. A process for manufacturing the fiberboard sheet is also disclosed.

摘要: Method for producing homogeneous sheets of nicotine-free vegetable fibers includes:
crushing up solid components of a raw material containing the nicotine-free vegetable fibers to bring them to a particle size of about 20-220 μm,
mixing the crushed-up product thus obtained with water, at least one binding agent and at least one material to form an aerosol, until a mixture is obtained with a liquid content of about 30-50%,
subjecting the mixture to a first lamination to obtain a continuous strip with a thickness of about 1-20 mm,
subjecting the strip which has already been subjected to the first lamination to a series of further lamination steps, until a strip having a remarkably constant thickness of about 90-280 μm is obtained, and
drying the strip to a liquid content of about 8-15%.-

摘要: The invention discloses a method to form a composition, which method includes fibrillating fibers to form MFC in the presence of an alkali-metal silicate whereby an MFC and silicate mixture is formed The presence of alkali-metal silicate during fibrillation of fibers to MFC, reduces the viscosity and increases the water release behavior, whereby the fibrillation can be accomplished at higher concentrations and a more uniform mixture of MFC-silicate is accomplished. The composition formed by the method of the invention may e.g. be used in paper or paperboard production, in cement production or as an additive in composites.
