摘要: A control signal protection device protects a current-receiving field device from an undesirable interruption in a control signal provided to the field device. The control signal protection device includes a first terminal to connect the signal protection device to a control system and a second terminal that connects the control signal protection device to a field device. The control signal device further includes a power storing element for temporary accumulation of electric energy and a switching circuit for controlling operational mode of the signal protection device. Electric energy is stored in the power storing element in a first operational mode. Electric energy stored in the power storing element is supplied to a positive terminal in the second terminal pair in a second operational mode.

摘要: A controller for a building management system includes a first data interface configured to receive data from the building management system and a processing circuit including a processor and a memory device storing a fault detection rule having an initial threshold value. The processing circuit is configured to detect a first fault in the building management system using the stored fault detection rule having the initial threshold value and to use the data from the building management system to determine whether an adjustment to the stored fault detection rule is needed. In response to a determination that an adjustment to the stored fault detection rule is needed, the processing circuit is configured to calculate a new threshold value for the stored fault detection rule and update the stored fault detection rule by replacing the initial threshold value with the new threshold value.

摘要: A method of establishing current limits for each of a plurality of device couplers mounted on a trunk of an electrical circuit at distributed physical positions, in which each of said device couplers is capable of servicing one or more spurs connected thereto, and in which said trunk has a total trunk current and a known resistive component, comprising the steps of: a) establishing physical characteristics of the electrical circuit including i) an order in which said device couplers are mounted on said trunk along its length; ii) a load current each device coupler requires to service the one or more spurs connected thereto; and, iii) a voltage drop of each of said sections of trunk caused by the resistive component thereof, which is proportional to a physical length thereof and the combined load currents of each device coupler serviced by that section of trunk; b) calculating a current limit for each device coupler, which current limit is greater than said load current, according to a predetermined tolerance rationale; c) calculating an intermediate trunk current available to each device coupler by deducting from said total trunk current the current limits of each device coupler preceding that device coupler in said order, as well as a consequential reduction in current caused by said voltage drop of each of said sections of trunk preceding that device coupler; and, d) adjusting said current limits so none exceeds the intermediate trunk current available to the corresponding device coupler.

摘要: Nodes installed at various locations throughout a building each include a wall-mounted unit supported by an in-wall electrical box, a connection inside said in-wall electrical box between the wall-mounted unit and said mains-power wiring system of the building, and a power line communications transceiver by which the nodes can communicate through said connection to the mains-power wiring system, and at least sensor operable to detect home intrusion events. Each node is configured to, in response to a detection of a home intrusion event by said node, activate a local alarm-responsive action at said node that detected the home intrusion event, and also send out an alarm signal for triggering additional alarm-responsive actions at the other nodes. The sensor(s) include a microphone operable to capture audible events, through which the node can recognize home intrusions events and verbal commands for voice-activated functions, and perform alarm-related or control-related functions accordingly.

摘要: On receiving a request to reduce power consumption such as a request for power conservation, a power control device controls power used in a power consumption system including a plurality of devices so that a user can use enough consumable power while saving power in the most comfortable manner possible. The plurality of devices is classified into controllable devices and control-difficult devices. An information acquisition unit acquires amounts of power used by the controllable devices and an amount of most recently measured power of the entire power consumption system. When an amount of an upper limit power is set for the entire power consumption system, a demand control unit controls the amounts of power used by the controllable devices based on evaluation functions set for the respective controllable devices and differential equations set for the respective controllable devices.
