Abstract: An optical sensor module and a packaging method thereof are disclosed, wherein the optical sensor module comprises a substrate having a light sensing element; and a housing made of a transparent material. The housing is connected to the substrate and covers the light sensing element. The housing has a light-receiving area facing the light sensing element, and the inner surface of the housing toward the substrate is provided with a light-shielding coating in a portion outside of the light-receiving area. In this way, optical components such as the light sensor can be effectively protected, and still retain the effect of avoiding noise light interference with the light sensor module.

Abstract: A light detection method for a light detection device is provided. The light detection device includes multiple scan lines and multiple light sensing elements. Each of the light sensing elements is coupled to a corresponding one of the scan lines. The light detection method includes: in a detection mode, sequentially scanning a first scan line to a (N+1)th scan line among the scan lines, wherein a Nth scan line is not adjacent to at least one of a (N−1)th scan line and the (N+1)th scan line; reading signals of the light sensing elements coupled to the first scan line to the (N+1)th scan line; determining whether the signals meet an exposure standard; and controlling the light detection device to enter a value reading mode when the signals meet the exposure standard.

Abstract: Disclosed are imprinting ink compositions for use in imprinting techniques such as SCIL. The imprinting ink compositions comprise TMO nanoparticles stabilized by selected polymerization inhibitors that allow for the formation of a stable imprinting ink composition in which polymerization of the TMO nanoparticles is effectively suppressed and from which high refractive index patterned layers can be formed. Imprinting methods using such imprinting ink compositions, optical devices including patterned layers formed from such imprinting ink compositions and lighting devices, optical sensors and photovoltaic devices including such optical elements are also disclosed.

Data processing circuitry processes the measurement interferometric data associated with the multiple light propagating modes of the single core to determine one or more shape-sensing parameters of the sensing fiber from which the shape of the fiber in three dimensions can be determined.

Abstract: The present application discloses an apparatus and method configured to measure characteristics of high power beams of laser energy used in material processing. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a housing having a first compartment and a second compartment separated from each other to reduce the transfer of thermal energy between them. Optical modules having optical sensors configured to measure characteristics of the high power beam are mounted in the first compartment. A removable and replaceable beam dump configured to absorb most of the high power beam is positioned in the second compartment. The removability/replaceability of the beam dump enables operation of the apparatus without active cooling of the beam dump assembly, simplifying the apparatus and protecting the optical sensors in the first compartment.

Abstract: The present disclosure sets forth a motion sensing outdoor security light with the flexibility of being mounted to either a wall structure or to an eave or ceiling structure. An adjustable spherical motion sensor housing may be provided with the rotationally adjustable outdoor security light, allowing easy adjustment of motion detection ranges under different mounting schemes without comprising the aesthetic design of the light. The adjustable spherical motion sensor housing may also provide an enlarged horizontal field of view for better performance.
